After Québec, Ontario, England Finland and France, I live in Nova Scotia, with my husband @StevenKennard@zeroes.ca, border collie and three Cornish Rex cats.

I'm vegan for the animals, whole plant food eater for my health, reader, so far Novid, Evermasker, photographer, e-bike (now) rider. Animals.
I seem to spend 90% of my waking time in the kitchen, cooking and the rest out on my bike or walking my dog.
I do not post or comment on anything political.
I've stopped boosting images that lack alt text. Even ones that I love!

I got to talk to my dear young Iranian friend for almost an hour yesterday. It was such a joy to see her lovely face and hear her reassuring me that she and her family really are okay.

A beautiful monarch butterfly spent some time flying around the marsh milkweed we planted 2 years ago. Such a joy to see.

This pretty coneflower (echinacea), left over from my patch of wildflowers that is almost taken over by common milkweed, was discovered by a leaf cutter bee, late this afternoon.

Rupert was such a special cat and our first Cornish Rex. 2002-2019 We still miss him.
He was the cat we didn't want! We specially wanted a female, solid colour (brown or black or grey). But the minute we saw this tiny squirming red tiger-marked tabby male kitten, we knew he was ours!
He was not only a wonderful friend and companion, full of character, but when we took him to his only cat show at 8 months old, he won his championship and every other prize going and the hearts of the judges and all who saw him! He then quit competing so as not to demoralize the other cats. He was kind in that way, too.

She's a joy! We'll never be able to meet (she lives in Tehran) but at least we can video chat. I've mentored her since she was just 14 (she asked me to teach her photography) and now she's a young woman of 27 with a University degree in chemical engineering who works in photography and graphic design. I couldn't be prouder of her. We are part of her whole family.

Funny you should ask this.
I just had the second puncture of my life just the other day (tiny tiny thorn), in the same tire as the first. The first one was brutal, a screw, but both times the tube was patched, the offending article was removed, any debris was cleaned out and the tube replaced. The fact that this tire had been previously punctured by the screw didn't make it any more vulnerable in general, according to my repair guy ( @StevenKennard@zeroes.ca ). The thorn found a new spot.
Two punctures in a month in 71 bike riding years. Can't complain, I guess.

These were all over the ground when we stopped at Kingsport Beach on our bike ride.
It's just such a gorgeous design, at first I thought this was part of a bracelet that had broken and been left on the picnic table. But too beautiful! I couldn't stop looking at it.

Actually we did. When we bought our e-bikes, 2022, we gave our regular bikes to two Ukrainian refugees who lived in the city, as they said they liked to bike. We were challenged by language barrier, but they seemed super pleased when we delivered them to them. One was a Diamond Back bike my husband had bought in England, mine was an English Claud Butler Pagan. We gave them helmets as well and they seemed really happy and rode around the parking lot when we delivered them. We never heard another thing from them. Their social media never shows a bike at all.
In our experience, when you give things to people, I'm not sure they really hold much value for them. I don't mean financially, but emotionally, maybe? Who knows. It's not just bikes.
Perhaps, when someone has put some effort or time (and hard earned cash) into acquiring something that they really want, there's a different feeling, a different level of appreciation involved for the thing or the experience?
This might sound a bit negative, but it's just our experience and yours may differ completely. These were strangers to us, so perhaps they have been riding happily around Halifax since then. (They just haven't shared any images of themselves doing so.)

EDIT: kind folks responding here have all guessed coyote. That's probably right. I've only ever seen them on night Time videos, which is why I wasn't sure. Thanks all.
At first I thought fox but a very dark one. It also has quite long fur. Coyote? Looks a bit small and has short legs for a coyote.
If I subscribed to everything that wants me to... We basically wouldn't eat.

Suppliers everywhere were either out or only had small bottles, so I was glad to find a couple of the bigger ones at an excellent price.
And completely safe for pets and people with no toxic chemicals.

I may be a bit obtuse, but I am a little confused. Would that be up to 2 gb of uploads every month or total storage of up to 2 gb is free? Then is it up to 10 gigabytes uploads per month for €3 euros or is it a total of 10 gigabytes storage being €3 etc.

You all know that we have our MakerTube content that I share here from time to time - mostly they have been performance photography stills by Steven with music supplied with permission by the performer made into a video presentation. The content I share I boost and mention so that are many people get to view as possible. Obviously there's nothing in it for us, so it's just for fun. I also share with family and a friend or two.
Most videos, despite my best promotional efforts get around 5 views.
Yesterday I uploaded a short, unedited 1+ minute video I had made of a section of a bike ride through the woods, taken as an experiment with my new little action camera. I made the video only visible with the link to share with interested friends and family. I sent the link to 4 people.
This little video has had 10 views!
Strange! There is a Veery calling in the video and I do mention it in the commentary. Maybe that's the appeal?

Started to watch this and it makes so much sense. One of my most creative efforts ( https://www.elliekennard.ca/category/a-flower-a-day/) was created within the self imposed constraints of using a vintage Helios 44-2 lens, manual settings, manual focus, available light and a flower photograph only. I processed each using the same preset I created. 534 consecutive days. I finished February 28, 2022. These limitations really kept me focused (pun intended) and honed my skills.
I'll watch more tomorrow.

Thanks for the feedback, Phil. Yes it doesn't sound a good idea at all. Maybe the idea of the crate... But then you have to support it in some way what it gets the wheel off. Or mend the tire. Our bikes are extremely heavy, even without the battery I have a feeling it's 35 kilos. And I am just under 50. So the lifting would be tricky. Probably not going to happen.
