Just been listening to a fascinating podcast on the fall of the Western Roman Empire (I really push out the party boat on Saturday nights!)
Now I need to find an atlas to try to wrap my head around all the movements of peoples...

Ummm, the early jonquils are running VERY early this year... We haven't even reached winter yet!!
(I'm in the southern hemisphere, as is this garden)
Just this one little bloom so far - and it smells divine.
Blessed Samhain/Beltane to all who celebrate.
May the turn of the year treat you gently.
A card for the week - 4 May 2026
💙 Four of Cups
How's your ennui?!?
This card is often read as a card of dissatisfaction, apathy, and not appreciating all you have.
I also read it as a card of boredom... of not knowing what excites and interests you... or of not having energy to do anything about it.
Pay attention to what you are avoiding or procrastinating - there's useful information in there.
Pay attention to what piques your interest.
See where following your interest leads you.

#FediCoven Q11 How do you acknowledge the autumnal equinox and do you celebrate Mabon?
I'm in the southern hemisphere, so it's the Vernal Equinox for me.
I have a soft spot for the equinoxes (not just because my birthday is close to the other one!) I prefer balance to the extremes of the Solstices...
I like to take time to ponder the balance of my life, and my beings and doings, as well as the wider balance of everything.
At each turn of the wheel, I do an altar/shrine refresh. That and a simple oracle reading with my deities/patrons is enough of a rite for me.
I also like to cast on a new knitting project at each turn, to help connect my spirituality and my creativity. (It's also a form of impulse control!)
Oops, I accidentally cast on something new...
This is my adaptation of Sylvia McFadden's "Teacup"
I love her stripe pattern, but I prefer an i-cord edging and a more triangular shape, so I'm doing those!
Main yarn (in photo) Malabrigo Mechita. Colour: Diana
Other yarns will be stash oddments in bottle green and mahogany brown.
