@ansuz@gts.cryptography.dog @zhenyi@mastodon.social omg all this time I thought the original was the misogynistic version (last panel is him standing smiling next to a woman). Thanks for inadvertently correcting my misconception!

Edit: actually I'm only sure about the image. I'm not particularly good at spotting LLM-generated text.

@AlSweigart@mastodon.social I'd probably spend the entire month in a state of analysis paralysis deciding between all three options.

@Furthering yup. Every sentence has a similar cadence. Not to mention all the em dashes.

@davew@mastodon.social Americans always forget about the 0th amendment: simply shout “NOT A CRIME” before, during, and after committing one, and you cannot be found guilty.

@vegetarianzombie@mastodon.social @mcc@mastodon.social it works for me, but there was a period of about 2 months where it would re-enable itself every week or so.
I wouldn't go so far as to say it was intentional, but it definitely felt like a low priority bug (as opposed to if it kept DISabling itself)

@grantmc@techhub.social There's a workaround where you can put in a dummy number and click "did not receive verification code" (I used this strategy as recently as a year ago), but it puts your account into a weird state where the phone number is "trusted" but not "verified", and you have to use the apple device itself for 2FA. It also potentially allows whoever ends up with that phone number to steal your account. Maybe not recommended if it's an important account (sounds like it is), sorry 😅

Al Sweigart:
I never connect my appliances (e.g. TV) to wifi. But how do I know it's not attempting to find open wifi and the connecting to those? What happens when appliances can connect to cell data whether we want them to or not?

@grantmc@techhub.social Does apple not allow multiple accounts with the same phone number? For some reason I was under the impression that the same number could be re-used across a few accounts (something like 3-5), but now that I think about it I have no idea where I read that, if at all (I might have just made it up).
