Last night I dreamt that I somehow had received two artificial, removable fingers on my right hand. I recall thinking how much fun I could have tricking unsuspecting people into pulling them off my hand.

An old maple tree stands along the abandoned Sanborn Road in Meriden. Many of the largest maples have fallen here, although a handful remain (October 2022).
When I was growing up, the barbed wire fences were still doing the job of (mostly*) containing grazing cows in open pasture. The fields are now largely overgrown.
*We had occasional AWOL bovine visitors coming up the driveway when they broke free.

Had a brief conversation this morning with an educator (4th grade teacher) who assured me that AI is great and will grow out of its rough edges.
She was largely uninterested in discussing the harmful environmental impact of these massive data centers making her job easier.
That's not an incidental detail we can afford to gloss over. #AISlop

I used to run SETI, too, but sadly they shut that program down several years ago. Apparently they got more data than they could process.

@thatfrisiangirlish I have little to no innate understanding of why people persist in upholding hierarchies. It's a weird primate holdover that makes no logical sense. It seems like evolved people should be able to shake it.
As an adult, I've acquired more insights into how it works, and how important status is to NTs. So while I don't understand hierarchies on an intuitive basis (and never will), I unfortunately understand aspects of its social impact.

@itdm5j21 @tomnorthfilm I've mostly bought Lexar but also some Sandisk cards over the years. I can't tell you the exact cards at the moment, but I've been using a 256GB SD card in my X-T5 for a long time.
It's rare that I come anywhere close to filling it up. A 64GB card is probably adequate for anything but event photography, IMO.

@itdm5j21 @tomnorthfilm I have owned a number of Fujifilm primes and zoom lenses, but I've been increasingly switching to third party brands like Viltrox and Sigma. The Viltrox "Pro" series lenses are particularly good.
Some absolutely rival Fujifilm's own glass at a fraction of the price.

@tomnorthfilm If you decide to stick with your X-T2 for a while longer, you might look to see if you can find the battery grip on the used market. It adds some heft but the extra batteries mean you can easily shoot all day.
