Hey friends and neighbors! I didn't want to do this, but the cat scratch I just got in my forearm has prompted me to ask for some help. I just tried for the third time, and I know all the kitty-holding techniques. It's hopeless, he gets violent. I don't want him to feel stressed and miserable everyday. I called the pharmacy and they said they could make a transdemal gel I could put in his ears instead, for $65. I don't have that money, I just put everything into helping my housemate prep for her trans bottom surgery (she left for the appointment in Charlottesville today!). I was and still am a "picky" eater. Everything plain, except for BBQ and cheese sauce. I've never eaten ketchup, mustard, or any of the condiments and sauces most people like, aside from when my order was wrong and I didn't check before I bit into my sandwich. Lesson learned. One day, it hit me that it's probably unusual to have eaten like that for 40 years. I'd never thought much about it until after I was diagnosed. #Autism #Adhd #Audhd #ActuallyAutistic

It still frustrates the Hell out of me that medical descriptions of autism rarely mention sensory issues. They seem to only focus on outward appearance and behavior—how it affects everyone else, not how it affects us. On a daily basis, the sensory issues are a bigger concern than anything else, but that rarely gets mentioned. It's so buried that many people don't even know that it is part of autism. That's probably why, to this day, people still only self realize very late in life. #PetPeeve #ActuallyAutistic

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 1060 , Tuesday 22/09/2026 Tuesday started just after 7am when I gave up trying to ignore the screaming kids next door. It’s been a busy little day, I cleaned the bathroom & mopped the floor in there, cleaned the extractor fan too - it gets a bi-annual seeing to to keep it running smoothly. Also cleaned the multi-sensor for the weather station, sadly the annual autumnal influx of spiders seems to have completely done for the temperature sensor so I have got a couple of Switchbot™ external temp / hygrometer meters instead. Not as good but far cheaper & they hook up to the phone so that should be helpful. I tried out one of the new mini work lights that I got in Costco™ when I was sorting the extractor fan out - they are fabulous - really effective! Final Thoughts. Not a bad day, the only downside was that I went a little wild with the sweet stuff that I got from Costco™ - I knew I would - I should have resisted buying them! Hey ho, will have to work extra hard in the gym! Thank you to all those who are helping me on this journey, in a myriad different ways. Apparently some Anthropic researcher is going around explaining LLM language tendencies and styles by comparing them to autistic people. Unacceptable. *Very* not cool.
