@momo@social.linux.pizza I suspect your 9 year old now has a better understanding of #AI than politicians whose stated aim is to "mainline AI into the veins" of the UK https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/jan/12/mainlined-into-uks-veins-labour-announces-huge-public-rollout-of-ai

@su_liam@mas.to @momo@social.linux.pizza "Just because the big boys want you to do it, -don't They're not your friend and even if its "free" , they will want you to pay later or trap you into doing things you shouldnt"

@sillyCoelophysis I like El jibbitty Q

@MarkHoltom Henry and his friends (vacuum cleaners) are great Really tough, easy and cheap to repair - all the parts are available, even just the very end end of the hose that gets worn away when used without any attachment British company, headquartered in the UK.

@lowqualityfacts Awesome levels of orange'ness there

@proscience@toot.community @pvonhellermannn@mastodon.green Green policy on NATO: Which bit is "problematic" ? "We acknowledge the need for greater defence spending and continued NATO membership, but also call for a more thorough reappraisal of strategic defence alliances. With Trump no longer a reliable ally, we need to deepen our defence cooperation with the EU, and review AUKUS." https://greenparty.org.uk/2025/06/02/greens-call-for-investment-in-genuine-global-security/

@raymaccarthy@mastodon.ie @rpsu@mas.to Why cant there be different time zones in the Island of Ireland? Or Northern Ireland having a different time zone to mainland UK? Different timezones within a landmass or within the same country aren't exceptional

@pedestrians1st@mastodon.online There are lots of things that *could* be a #labour win Labour has a bigger majority than #thatcher ever had but have spent the last 2 years flopping around desperately trying to avoid doing anything much #thamesWater is a great example, they're desperate just to keep that shit-show solvent and private rather than take any meaningful action

@TJ1001 @mlbellar If Jesus Christ appeared in the USA, he would be murdered by #ice

@jargoggles More concerned with Presidential dignity and decorum than with illegal destruction and human dismemberment The President dropping the F-Bomb is a greater concern than the US dropping cluster bombs These flabby, useless, politicians and pundits will watch an illegal war and be more upset by Presidential vulgarity than by the ongoing obscenity of bombing children #liberals #centrists #USPolitics #genocide #Iran #trump #UKPolitics

@quixoticgeek@social.v.st Probably will be ok, plants know the time of year and will do whatever they can to produce fruit before they die The plants may be a bit smaller but I would be very surprised if you dont get tomatoes Good luck

@selzero@syzito.xyz Trump is winning so big, he just wants to keep on winning "like you've never seen before" Thats true, never seen a "win" quite like a #Trump win Why have one victory when you can be victorious every day

@PhilipCJames Ask the "Primate of All Ireland" A title that has amused me for decades https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primacy_of_Ireland

@markhburton @TheTempleMom Ground elder leaves are great in a salad And its not like the stuff doesnt get everywhere (Definitely dont recommend growing it deliberately but if you got some...you got loads)

@Nika2022@mas.to @itisiboller@infosec.exchange exactly... What you do in a toilet/bathroom is not secret.. But it is private

@aisling@critter.cafe I think they may have pictured the depressed arsonist leaving the scene very disappointed by the feeble little fire they made and realising that the waning flames and dying embers represent just one more failure in their unhappy and ultimately futile life....its all there in the picture

@astrally@mstdn.social Hi astral, hi am pretty new but my understanding is that if you are searching by #HashTags or in #Comments that search will be across all #Federated servers and it seems (imho) to be the best way to find new people In metatext (no experience of it) there will be a option to view everything on your instance (server) or everything posted on all federated instances Try #Feditips if still stuck use loads of #HashTags #Metatext #help #Newbie

@ablackcatstail@mastodon.goblackcat.com @feditips@mstdn.social

• 2 really love tusky, website is great too

@Crazypedia@pagan.plus dandelions are very important for bees....and just beautiful If i see an area teaming with dandelions and buzzing with insects, or a perfect dandelion flower in a crack in barren concrete, i think "how beautiful, how wonderful life is" Others just want to kill everything, and have a uniform desert of concrete or grass Bit analogous for life really

@dnkrupinski @iFixit "Changed the battery on my phone", is really impressive as long as you *dont* mention its a fairphone : :ablobcatnoddies: But much credit for selecting such a repairable phone in the first place

@sarah Something fungi something? I do remember the name Non fungible token But no way do I understand it - it seems *really* stupid

@cmconseils "Call me asap"

@shauna Its nice when sites accept boolean And really frustrating when they don't

@Fu@hostux.social I think currently NATO is not ideal and needs to change& ultimately maybe be replaced by a European agreement Also the current UK "defence" budget may be sufficient if it was used for *defence*- so no more flying reconnaissance for Israel, and no repeat of Afghanistan or Iraq etc which were so costly (in every sense) and were hard to justify as defensive The stated position from the greens doesnt exactly align with my ideal either, but its close See the link (above) for full context

@forse@kolektiva.social Great link, I know it was posted in response to a particular comment - but its a really good article Thanks

@patrickhadfield@mastodon.scot To much hype and nonsense we need more of this (video) to cut through the hype and hysteria: (Video of "The Cure" at awards ceremony)

@nixCraft@mastodon.social SNAFU for microsoft teams

@alipunk@thecanadian.social You're tripping

@n1xnx@tilde.zone @DM_Ronin@mstdn.social Its "Nothing that couldn't have been made in the 1950's. " And it wasnt made, despite the 1950s being full-on consumerist It wasnt made because its stupid and its shit (Or maybe it was made and disappeared because......its stupid and its shit)
