Elephants gather in herds, but they’re led by a matriarch. The males are not part of herds. They roam solo.

Since we’re said to be part of the “elephpant herd” one can assume that PHP is inherently female - in both makeup and leadership.

On Thursday if all goes according to plan I’ll enter the first phase of treatment for PTSD.

This PTSD was caused by the mental health care system in America treating mental health patients as criminals, rather than seeing them as ill. I bear the scars from their “treatment.”

I’m hopeful that my stability and insight will let me focus on the outcomes I want and ensure that I can once again enjoy life as I did before 2016.

There’s something deeply cynical about announcing conversion therapy is protected speech on Trans Day of Visibility.

We need wholesale regime change in that region.

I needed a quick health check for a Wordpress site so I asked AI to write it. In 100 lines it attempted to:

- Expose the PHP and WordPress version it was running on.
- Expose the theme name and plugin names and versions
- Declare for all to see whether or not we were using a redis cache and the database connection details (sans password thank god)

Vibe coders would have shipped it.

Point: even if AI gets good enough to write code for us, experience is still required to know if it’s right.

PTSD sucks and treatment is hard. That’s it. That’s the post.

It’s not often that I am truly afraid.

But I am today.

I fear for my neighbors who are Persian. I fear for my fellow humans who are in Iran. And I fear for my homeland, which is led by a madman.

I don’t know what happens in 3 hours and 30 minutes. Nobody does. And that produces lots and lots of fear.

As I consider treatment for my PTSD this summer guilt consumes me for the potential of having to uproot my life and pause things with my kids. The treatment is necessary, yet the cost is very real.

I’m so thankful the president wasn’t harmed last night.

This isn’t an endorsement of him. This is a statement against making him a martyr. It’s a statement against using violence to achieve ends. It’s a statement against guns proliferating so much so that a secret service agent took a bullet for a felon.

The president lives. But countless others won’t because of his policies on firearms. This is his third run-in with gun violence. When will it end?
