A couple years ago we spent the weekend in Maine and stayed at a hotel that used to be the newspaper printing press building. So the theme of the hotel is printing and old typewriters etc. The wallpaper in the halls are covered with old headlines from the newspaper and as the headlines drop down to the floor the carpet has been designed with little typewriter letters in it as though they're falling off the page onto the floor. #photography #AltText

I am notoriously bad with flowers/plants. Last week I posted a picture of some cut flowers I got for my mother's birthday. I'm going to repost that with what they look like now and someone needs to tell me how it's possible 😳 that is a good surprised face. I've never had flowers last this long in my life and they aren't near any natural light. Also, what are those orange flowers that opened up so much called?

I've been playing with double exposure and I liked this one, especially how the orange highlights both the Banksy and the Crimean war statue that he purposely placed it in front of; blind ambition, blind nationalism and blind to suffering indeed 😔

Recipe question: I am allergic to vinegar and lemon (all citrus fruits), so I use only olive oil on salad. I was at a Turkish restaurant last week and I asked for olive oil because of the allergy and they said their dressing had no vinegar or lemon. I tried it, it had a tangy flavor but I wasn't allergic to it and it was very good with some herbs. As we left I asked what the flavor was and they said a touch of tomato purée. Does anyone have a proper recipe for this? #AltText #recipes

I have been in a cab for over an hour. It's just some rain. It's bumper to bumper, this is ridiculous. I have to be able to do stairs again so I can reliably use the subway. A bus would've been even worse. This is some of the flags in front of the UN. This is my example of what's happening to the world. It also means I've been in this cab long enough to use every editing tool imaginable 😂

I apologize for the lack of pixels from this 2010 photo. It was the best specimen I could come up with. Taken at the museum of natural history in NYC of the skeleton of a turtle from an earlier time (I don't remember the exact era) hanging from the ceiling.

In 2022 I walked by a pop-up mini walk-through installation. It was a free digital information art space that showed how New Yorkers are connected. Each wall had different graphics about how many New Yorkers did different hobbies etc. In this room, it was showing which breeds of dogs people have in New York.

Hey folks! Does anyone have recommendations for a Ramen place that uses real bone broth (like it will turn to jelly in the refrigerator). My favorite place (on 9th Ave called Jun-Men) closed and I haven't been able to find one that uses bone broth.

Saw this in Midtown yesterday. Someone seems to have taken a metal street sign that is covered in stickers or they covered it in stickers and mounted it on the outside of a brick wall. It was really mounted there, not just stuck up with tape. Fascinating 🧐

Today I stopped at The Donut Pub and learned something new. A Boston cream has custard in the middle and the Brooklyn cream has white frosting in the middle. I knew about the Boston, but not the Brooklyn. So for my very first poll I'm asking which is your favorite?
