They have been killing our heritage for over a century. There are barely any local fishing communities left in South Louisiana. Our land keeps disappearing, washing away.

@peterbrown@mastodon.scot Do you think that will solve climate change? We still have to extract resources and fuel to build electric devices and power them. The only hope we have is to stop consuming more than we need. As many have pointed out, we are already past the point of no return towards climate collapse. Any “solution” that involves capitalist production and consumption will only accelerate the fall.

@adriano@lile.cl They supposedly last longer due to less moving parts. Not sure what that stacks up to considering the footprint of parts that will need replacing over the years. I’m in the US, so the real question here is why don’t we have reliable public transportation everywhere?

@courtcan@mastodon.social I met some new EV owners recently who did the math and determined that the $20k they would spend on the new/used Mustang EV would cover the cost of gas for 10 years in a combustion vehicle.
