I have been a longtime supporter of the EFF, and hope to remain so
That said, after this statement of theirs, I have no reason to continue to do so
I fully understand the need to make sure that the right of "transformative use" is maintained.
These LLM's are not transformative. Time and again it has been shown that copyrighted works are able to be dispensed *verbatim and in full*
These companies do not credit source, and (try to) claim copyright on these materials themselves

As someone who travels the public timeline from time to time, I probably have some idea on how bad it is. And it is a lot of slop lately. Like a lot lot. Like more then 10. ( a little joke for levity )

No matter what anyone does, it always is:
- Not done perfectly from the first attempt
- Done too late
- Done too soon
- Only done as a virtue signal
- Said with the wrong words
- Said in the wrong tone
- The wrong software
- etm.
And it never is provided as constructive feedback.
Some of those accounts are troll-accounts, some are the genuine deal ('well acksually') believing they are doing a good thing.
Ugh :-(

There are several recorded and verified cases of normal photos being incorrectly flagged as CSAM resulting in arrest and prosecution, only for the case to be dropped when this comes to light.
At which point the lives of these people are ruined, as no one will ever believe them even if the authorities themselves clear their name
So no ever post bathing/swimming etc. type photos. Don't even take the photo as there are proposals to do on device scans

Yes, there is irony in talking over someone is talking over another. Sometimes you can also signal it by just friendly looking at them and once they are finished - redirect back to the original person and apologize for the interruption.

Attempting to suppress yourself is not going to end well. Learning to identify your thoughts and actions - and redirecting them works far better and is healthier.
Best thing to do however? Call out when others do it. Friendly at first
"sorry {person talking over another}, love the enthusiasm you are bringing. I would like to hear what {original person} wanted to say first so I have the full context for your reply."

What I am trying to learn to do when I interrupt someone else, and I realize it during - I apologize. "Sorry for interrupting, I got ahead of myself. Please continue". If I realize afterwards, I apologize as well of course.

If you genuinely want to alter your behavior in this regard you could look into Cognitive Behavior Therapy with a certified medical professional - or use a little notepad.
Whenever I hear something I want to reply to I make a note quickly and hold out my hand (or gently raise a finger)
It signals I want to say something in a fairly unobtrusive way, and allows me to collect my thoughts a bit AND doesn't interrupt the original speaker.

In general, don't escalate. But also support the person being talked over originally. If they are standing up for themselves, acknowledge it with a curt nod or say something like a "quite so, please continue where you left if you would"
I know that as ND people we can do this unknowingly. That's why I am very much open about my ND. I mention it at times, I'll ask people to let me known if I'm infodumping (like now, sorry)
That way, they'll know it's not meant in a bad way.

Right, apologies for this wall of text. This is a bit of painpoint for me as over the years I have issues with talking over people and being talked over as well (still do) But things are better now :)

Heh, well since another Dutch speaking person chimed in as well, I'll add 2 of my own...
I've been to call people:
"ongelofelijke natte sok" (incredible wet sock) for when I want to say a vulgar thing but can't or won't
"slappe pannekoek" (weak/soft pancake" for when someone is being a spineless wet sock

There also is Azure CLI / Cloud Shell. And cloud shell can be Bash or PowerShell, which really is just either one with the Azure CLI added in. And there are the Azure cmdlets for PowerShell...
We haven't mentioned WSL / WSL2 yet! With which you can run PowerShell for Linux in a Bash shell via WSL on Windows that is running in Windows Terminal.

PS6+ can't run in PS2 mode, and some snapins/addins still do not work in PowerShell vs Windows PowerShell.
A lot do nowadays but some still do not. ( * cough * SharePoint for example * cough *)
Hence 5.1 still exists as the default. And most teams really don't see the need to install the newer version, soooo here we are.

Windows PowerShell is built upon the full .net framework
PowerShell 6+ is built upon .NET core. Hence it was referred to as PowerShell core originally (for a short period)
The switch was required to go open-source and cross platform as I recall

For most people is not the corporation they develop that with - it is with their products. Especially nostalgia.
The brand and type of cookies wr got when visiting our friends/family when we were a kid. The instant noodles that were the only thing people could afford during tough times, and so on.
That all said: if the only thing people can afford is corporation owned, and they need it for survival: do not feel pressured or shamed to change until safe to do so

There is a saying (not sure if it is Dutch or just a general one)
"Locks are for honest people."
Most thefts are opportunistically based, so any lock that adds hindrance/delay does its job.
That said, some locks are indeed appallingly bad. Folx like Alice will help you learn and understand what to look for
And, to quote another saying: "Trust and lock your bike."
Also, let's not forget that Alice is a highly skilled expert making it look easy ;)

Some folks use the digit method as I recall
Add rice to pan
Add water to cover rice and one digit on finger additionally
... I just use the rice cooker my mom gave me. Works a treat, especially as it makes a loud "thunk" noise once it is done.

I'm glad the posts are of some use/reference! I deal with the same challenges as well, as I get talked over a lot as well, so the above is tuned and based on what I've found that works - as well as advice I've gotten over the years (that I found to work)
And I do tend to get on my little soapbox from time to time, so I'm sure there'll be more coming ;)

Most of the time, this behavior is done as a form of lashing out - trying to appear as if they are one of "the guys". And also to keep the attention away from themselves. Because they are scared they will be expelled from said "group of friends", while in reality, they will be at the first possible

Also, I believe GitHub recently decreased the amount on free(and even some paid) rates/tokens you'd get, so using it might get expensive fast.
PS: even if there are a 100 PR's, I personally would rather see people take their time and do things right. As far as I know, you are not under a SLA ;-)

When this happens, and you press the CAPS LOCK on your keyboard, does that little light turn on?
If not, the system has completely frozen and it could be a lot of things.
If they do come on, the system is still working but the videocard has failed. In that event check that the powercables to the videocard are still properly plugged in.
Also, can you (safely) take the side panel of the PC and see if the issue still happens? So before turning the PC on remove the panel

OK, so right now when you try to turn it on:
It makes the usual noises like fans spinning etc.
You do not get any display
You tried replacing the video cables, another monitor, and another HDMI port
You hear no weird beeps when you turn it on
You can't check via CAPS LOCK if the machine is responding
I think it's time to indeed get some help (repair cafe, or shop, etc.) :-(
Maybe someone else has some ideas, sorry I couldn't help you :-(

That might be NoScript blocking the required JavaScript from running.

I have been know to interrupt those interrupting me or others and go "can I/they finish first please?" But oefff doing that drains me emotionally, and yet I do it. It's important

I could not find a statement regarding the stance of the project in terms of LLM usage/assistance, but based on the above, I presume that this means that LLM assisted coding is therefore allowed?
