@mattys_life@mastodon.au You feeling rested? Glad you managed to go back down for a bit. I tend to get, at most, 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

@mew@fwoof.space Better go out there and have a look! Maybe someone gave you a great gift! Maybe that happens only in novels? LOL!

@ner@fwoof.space @serrebi@serrebiradio.com I do use spelling checkers, but will never use a grammar checker. I won't ask Meta to "help me write". My writing is my own, and I'm proud.

@thickurt@woof.group I'm in love with my car! Got a feel for my automobile... 🎶🎶🎶 This restoration will keep you out of trouble!
Two weeks to Concert Day; I'm so excited, I just can't hide it, I'm about to lose control, and I think I like it! @Tenor2JT and I would love it if some Mastodon fandom showed up! A Sea Symphony, by Ralph Von Williams. Go here for tickets and stuff! https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/ccc-spring-concert-2026-a-sea-symphony

@jeffluszcz I used to go to this thing with friends from the old BARC. Welcome this sign of Spring!!

@coreysnipes@hachyderm.io This is a fantastic, generous offer, and I thank you for the effort! @linuxmint is a good distro for this, it's very easy to use, even for the non-computerist! 😊 For users who need the orca screen reader, I'd suggest using Mate instead of Cinnamon.
I just got in the door. What a supper -- Cinco De Mayo y Martes de Taco! YUM! Oh, and there was vanilla ice cream, with cherries, for dessert. I had to beg the driver to countermand the instructions, his GPS-based mapping app, was giving him; glad I was paying attention to the voice guidance! Having made my "Local Knowledge" check, I took us on a more-direct route. What a beautiful evening!

@mattymedlyn I've been waiting, a long time, for the Neo; there could be one, on my desk, very soon.

@gnome Using it, now, in Gnome OS Night, downloaded at about 15:30 (EDT). Screen reader is at 51 Alpha.

@mWare@ottawa.place Cool! I worked for a mom-and-pop isp near Boston, Mass. In the late nineties, there were many. Most offered, only, dialup access. My employer offered isdn and t-1s, as well as dialup. Alas, they went the way of the 56k modem.

@toddbuddy@4bear.com As you predicted, my new phone's face id is much improved since I got it. The NFC is better, too. My wearable blood glucose sensor is picked up on first tap, every time.

@gallagher123123 That is wicked kewl! Maybe, when I make the switch to OSX, I'll buy. Incidentally, will you be at the MA NFB convention? I'm not a conventioneer, but plan to meet a friend at the hotel.

@serrebi@serrebiradio.com Giving it a try, now. On first login, the 'down' key got stuck, well, not physically. This happens, sometimes, with the latest Firefox and Orca 50.

@MikeGorse@mindly.social Are you gaming in person, or online? I don't like the Disturbed version of Sound of Silence. I find it, ummmm... disturbing!
I'm listening to Ralph Vaughan Williams' 8th symphony. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Y-VhLRqwik&list=RD8Y-VhLRqwik&start_radio=1 I'll find a better recording. I just came across this one, browsing the youtubes. #Orchestral #Music

@BTyson@dragonscave.space I feel same, having given a laptop, I wasn't using, to a lover. They were using something I'd have sent to the recycler, long ago.

@serrebi@serrebiradio.com When mastodonning from my pc, I use my server's web interface. I've not yet found a decent external client for my GNU/Linux installations. I used to use an alternative web interface called Enafore but it seems to have fallen behind.

@mattymedlyn My ex and I had an old iMack, which I used occasionally, but I was, mostly, a pc user. I know, things, with Voiceover, have improved, much, since the 2010s. I have an iPhone, and enjoy using it. How cool, it would be, to keep the phone and laptop in perfect synch. Until the Neo, my main barrier to switching, was the cost.
This here toot is from a new iPhone 17 pro. Do I sound different? LOL! It's almost as I want it. What happened to my other voices? I only have Samantha. All apps and settings seem to have transferred. Face ID is worse than on the 14, so, it's disabled for now.

@serrebi@serrebiradio.com I just did the Web AIM user survey. No troubles after hitting the "I agree" button. Responding was very quick and easy; can't say that of past versions. Not sure what has changed, if anything, from last year to this one. If you go Debian, consider Testing. The accessibility and kernel are frequently updated. Stable is not too far behind, though, and you may want to stay there for other reasons. Trixie (latest stable) is about a year old. I went to her release party; LOL!
Good Night, Masto! I slept poorly, last night, and am fading fast. Bed Time!

@BrailleScreen@dragonscave.space @ZBennoui@dragonscave.space I'd suggest basing these images on the Debian Stable Mate live system, and including thunderbird mail and vlc media player. Orca is already included and the screen reader keyboard toggle is enabled.
