I left Twitter, expecting to find a similar experience on Mastodon. But what i found instead was community.
I'm brought back to the ways of the old internet, where humans matter and interactions are not fueled by algorithms, but curiosity.
One annoying thing about the Fediverse is the federation. Really.
When I want to search for a Mastodon post I read last week, you can be sure that I mostly will find mile long wordpress blog posts that contain those words.
I want a way to select only things posted on Mastodon.
Only I don't know if it was posted on Mastodon, it could be another implementation of AP.
Long story short, i hate searching the Fediverse. I never find what I want.

Yeah, I did the same a few years back when a sudden and hefty snowfall delayed and cancelled a lot of deliveries all over the area.
I told the CR rep that I was not angry, I just wanted to know when they'd reschedule my delivery. Also told her that I hoped other customers were nice and that even if they weren't she was not to blame, and thanked her for the help.

Jeg ble så gira da jeg hørte det skulle komme, og hørte på flere episoder men etter hvert ble det mer irritasjon enn glede. Elsket karakterene (alle tre skuespillerne er gode!) men gjennomføringen/produksjonen er så där.
Spesielt at det er klippet så mye. Mister helt den naturlige følelsen av spill. Kunne like gjerne vært forhåndsbestemte utfall. Og så ble det litt for mye "on rails" for meg med at de nesten alltid bare fant ting de trengte i neste scene.
Nei? KAN DET? Det har ingen av oss sagt eller tenkt på ever. Good job, Microsoft. Big brain!

Skal du sende den til NRKYtring eller noe, så fjern delen om podkast. Skjønner at det er mange her som er sure pga. det, men skal du selge budskapet om activitypub er det lite å hente på å ta opp det temaet og kritisere dem for det. Another battle.
Forsøket på å få NRK over på åpne medier avspores alt for ofte av en fyr eller tre som skal syte om podkastvalget deres (dere vet hvem dere er).

Joda, men det vil bare få de som vedtok det til å gå i forsvarsposisjon. Du gjør en veldig god jobb med å selge en historie, en ide, fremfor å bare bruke tørre/nerdy fakta, så ikke gi dem noen grunn til å ta fokuset bort fra det.

@SwiftOnSecurity@infosec.exchange I have done this for my parents who are getting old. A large notebook with categories where every site or service has a unique, human readable password. Someone breaking into their rural house and finding that exact book pretty small. In addition they're really good at spotting suspicious emails and such. I feel this is the perfect solution for them. And all important sites like banking has 2FA with a disconnected token.

I made a series of memes where the choice between Bluesky and Mastodon is the choice Barbie gets in the movie between the high heels and the Birkenstock sandal and posted it to those of my friends who are self proclaimed socialist, but yet again chose the corporate overlords "because it looks prettier" and such.
