I formatted them with Ext4 and a larger blocksize of 4kb, but nowadays you can jump to 8kb. if i had a partition dedicated to cinema, i would try blocksize 16kb. maybe you already tried this? EDIT: now we have ssd + ssd firmware + modern kernel + updated filesystems. so i don't mess with it. nowadays, i would do fs tweaks on a second disk, separate from the OS.
