@nik@toot.teckids.org dafuq. I get the ban for account creation, but it's also far from an actually good idea. The person who picked up Canonical's Unity DE and maintained it was a minor. Such a restriction could prevent people from doing such things.

@TheJen@beige.party my mom is the 1 proficient non-IT computer user at her job. If my sibling and I weren't both queer AF we could've easily had a kid by now thus making her a grandma. If I have to teach her something she retains it. It's to the point where I don't even need to look at her computer when she asks me for help because it's mostly just software recommendations to accomplish what she wants because I just know what's available. If anything it's people younger than me that don't know about undoing changes in Word or basic file management.
Fedi tip: if you think CWs make your post get less visibility you're thinking about it wrong. You need to make it so absurd it becomes clickbait, you want people to think "why are this things in a CW together, what could it possibly be?" That's how you get visibility.

@JoscelynTransient@chaosfem.tw I was previously diagnosed with BPD tendencies. Turns out of was a misdiagnosis based on me being autistic and having relationship and rejection based cPTSD. My psych told me to dismiss that previous diagnosis so I'm free from the stigma.
That said I know the struggles. I have RSD and several cPTSD triggers that can make things difficult for my partner to navigate. I genuinely feel bad that I react the way I do. This all on top of a BPD diagnosis would hurt as no one takes you seriously. It's always them dismissing how it feels for you and assuming that the emotional reactions are manipulation.
People also don't realize a year or 2 of DBT can basically "get rid of" BPD. The biggest problem with that is our society does not let people take the time off they need to accomplish this. It's the reason I was never able to commit to DBT before I learned I probably didn't need it and trauma centric therapy is probably better in my scenario.
Regardless people shouldn't be judged by diagnosed conditions. Whether it's because of a potential misdiagnosis or not shouldn't be a consideration, we should all just be treated with respect.

I'm so tired of Google enshitifying what they made and the need to be constantly online. My guess is that I'll have a phone that's just a phone in 5 years. All I need is chat apps like Signal, SMS, calling, and a basic web browser to look the occasional thing up. What I run could be modified android, but it won't be anything close to what Google would want me to run

There's a whole ass science thing about how names have an influence on people's personalities. I wonder how this starts to look with trans people added to the equation. Like do we pick a name that matches our existing personality, do we choose a name with an associated personality we want to work towards, or do our chosen names influence who we end up becoming after our transition? Maybe it's a bit of all 3.
