@thephd@pony.social browsed some old visual gags I've done and this made me think of you
That previous brain dump reminded me of when the zoom CEO said he wants to send a bot to meetings so he can spend more time at the beach or whatever.
My reaction was to ask: does the bot speak with the voice and authority of the CEO?
If no, what's the point of the bot?
If yes, what's the point of the CEO?
If you use llm as a tool, you don't get to use it as an excuse.
The budget was wrong, excel did it!
The logo is bad, photoshop did it!
The main problem with those examples is that both of them integrate some level of llm now, but you get my point.
The lander didn't crash because powerpoint had an issue, but because humans picked a wrong tool for the job.
Gog didn't post a bad picture because llm told them to, but because human made an error. They should have just said so.
First book of Asimov's foundation done. One good side of old scifi is that the books were reasonably short.
If "back to the future" was made today, they would travel back to the ancient history of 1996

Started reading Asimov's Foundation. When it comes to old sci-fi, it's on a totally different level.
Thought of a "fun" rule addition to chess:
If at any point there is a situation where one (and only one) of your own pieces (with exception of your queen) threatens your king, you lose. This simulates the domestic politics.
If several pieces threaten the king at the same time, he's safe, since the would-be assassins watch each other.
Had this idea of a meme for no particular reason.
The stalls mostly sell what seems, at first, hand-made items, but they are way too identical. Some stalls sell unfamiliar foods, but their smells still remind you of how long ago you had anything to eat.
A couple of people with official looking clothes walk near the stalls, and you can sense that other people are wary of them.
TIL (well, few days ago) that there's a whole genre of "take pop songs and make weird metal versions of them"
Here's "call me maybe" that's fairly unrecognizable but in its own right rather good:

Trying not to attract any attention, you go to a booth and show great interest in what you suspect is a very ornate bottle opener. It has a wooden handle which looks like it's been carved by hand, but all of the items are perfectly identical.
People around you grow quiet and you sense that the official-looking people are coming closer.
You make your way to the port, and wonder about the massive ships, bigger than some towns you've seen. Made of metal! How do they float?
Smaller boats line the pier, some selling fishing products. At least something is normal here. There's also a line of market stalls, and a church nearby attracts your attention.
Any Norwegians out there who could recommend things to do/see in Bergen this summer?
Jaahas, ja proton mail ilmesesti sponssaa äärioikeistoa..
Given that #swytchbike keeps pushing delivery date forward (I'm *fairly* certain this was supposed to arrive in 2025), I wonder if I "preorder today" I'll get my delivery faster..
