@MaggieFero@hachyderm.io Woo!! I might have been the last person to ask you _~at_ #NBPy (as you were going to your room Sunday night), so I'll take full straw-on-the-camel credit, you're welcome everybody.

@karen@floss.social Nice! I wish more people would be aware of websites as an option, and use them. I also don't use apps for any of those things — I've done them all recently besides the chess tournaments. I do use open source map/GPS apps like CoMaps, which use #openstreetmaps data. Bank websites are often an option, too, though I understand that's harder in some places.
Websites over proprietary apps. Spread the good word!

@pixelpusher220@dmv.community I once had to go looking for a pipe in a random place (and I found one!) to slide onto my wrench to extend the lever enough to loosen a lug nut. It probably didn't need to be 8 feet long*, but it still took some push.
- It was actually ~10 feet long, but I can't reach that high.

... regarding the amount of time you've committed to volunteer at PyCon US 2026
Our records show that you're signed up for 1 days 2 hours of volunteer sessions.
We appreciate your excitement, but would like to ask you to consider limiting your volunteer time to seven hours total so that you can enjoy the conference and allow for others to participate as volunteers.
You can ... consider opting-out of a few, unless you are diehard to participate in each and every one.

@pseudonym@mastodon.online @tootbrute@fedi.arkadi.one @randahl@mastodon.social No, no, that wouldn't work. You'd have to do wireless power transmission. You'd only get a tiny, tiny fraction of the produced power. Completely impractical.

@GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social Thanks, I was thinking the same thing. Possibly the worst thing they did is prove the concept even more.

@karen@floss.social By the way, you've lived rent-free in my head as the cyborg lawyer for 15+ years, and I've followed your work from afar during that time. Thanks for all you do!

@phildini@wandering.shop This is definitely the general idea I was having. But also, all the lobbies. Because there's more of us than there are of places to sit in any single lobby.
We're at Brewster's. Back right corner. #nbpy

@maxleibman@beige.party But yes, please, let me split this $18.52 purchase into four interest-free payments.

@bentsai@social.lol I once received some DHTML-powered multimedia content on an interactive CD-ROM!

@brianstorms Can confirm. 👎👎 It was one or two shots. I tried to head-canon that he took them off and put then back on, but I don't think so. 😆

@sethmlarson@mastodon.social Would love a ready-to-use build for non-Google Android devices, if that hasn't been brought up already. Considered following the PWA instructions in the repo last year but didn't get around to it.
