Is anyone I know going to #Laracon tomorrow?
Hello friends! My current gig is wrapping up at the end of January so I'm officially looking for my next opportunity.
I have 15+ years of experience with PHP including several years with Laravel. My strengths also include a ton of experience with SQL, third-party API integrations, managing dev teams, basic devops, and building internal tools.
I'm looking for remote roles or something local to the Portland, OR / Vancouver, WA area. Thanks in advance for boosts.
Our camping neighbors this weekend went salmon fishing and caught more than they could use. They gave us almost 3 pounds of Coho.. so my dinner tonight was swimming in the Columbia River ~24 hours ago.
Well that's new. For the first time that I've ever seen Amazon is charging $6.99 if I return an item using my own box and a label I print. I'm literally doing the work and I have to pay for that?
The only free options are a bunch of retail stores that don't exist anywhere near me (Rent-A-Center still exists?!), or bringing the item to a UPS store without any packaging. Which I always avoid because it means I have to wait in a line.
When in Boston…
@sarah@phpc.social Hey! Are you at the Laracon VIP dinner? I thought I saw your name on the event page.
Last week I went to #Laracon in Boston where I got to meet a lot of coworkers in person for the first time. There were a ton of great talks, from informative, to entertaining, to hilarious, to inspiring. By the end of the week I was exhausted (missing my flight home and spending an extra 11 hours at the airport didn't help), but it was a great time. If you get the chance to go to a Laracon I highly recommend it!
After 1 year with the #iPhone 17 I can confidently say I miss the home button more than ever. FaceID + gestures are the worst possible ways to manage phone access/navigate.
I would gladly give up a half inch of this ridiculously oversized screen to have a home button with TouchID again.
