We woke, we outsided, we ate, we frolicked, now we nap.

"but who are we, so small in times such as these"
I think Topanga barked! She made some kind of gibbering monkey noise while she was having zoomies and ricocheting off me.
I have a small list of things to bring up at Topanga's inaugural vet visit tomorrow. Little things, she's in pretty good shape.
Topanga has very strong feelings about me waking up in the morning. They're good feelings. They just require twenty minutes of rolling around and snorting and chewing on my hands and being super excited.
Me, lovingly: "Topangaaaaaaa!"
Topanga, brachycephalically: *HRNK*
Topanga's vet visit went fine, except the poor little baby was utterly terrified the whole time. Probably thought she was going to be dumped there and never see me again. She had to be carried into the back, where I'm told she did very well.
I think every vet visit is going to start with a general wonder about what breeds she is.
When Josie started showing her age and having trouble jumping onto the bed sometimes, I got a set of dog stairs for the bed. Taught her how to use them. She did, sometimes. Now Topanga is here and small enough to need them, but she cannonballs up onto the bed from *right next to the stairs.* Dogs.
Luna moth #embroidery update post. I like doing long-and-short stitches for gradients. I think I'm going to use some of my iridescent kimono thread for the veining between the green parts - I have some blackish stuff that should work a treat.
Yesterday was hard. One month since Mom died. Feels a lot longer and also a lot shorter. Time still is all weird and stretchy. I'll get back to normal sooner or later. I hope sooner. This is weird.
Dog: AWROOROOROO FOOD NOW?
Me: yes food now.
Dog: EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT.
Me: aww.
My oldest friend (tenure, not age) is also my emergency contact for medical things. I reminded her of this and she proceeded to text an entire dossier she's got of me and Dog, asking if anything needed updating.
Mind like a steel trap, that one.
It's been raining on and off (mostly on) since about 3 this afternoon. I am beyond thrilled. We need it so badly. It's supposed to rain tomorrow too.
#FountainPens I have a conundrum. I let my kakuno go dry (my bad!) and now it doesn't want to write properly. I disassembled it, cleaned it, dried it, reassembled it, reinked it, and I've barely got ink coming out. Same ink as before. Do I need to take it apart and put it back together more carefully? Soak it again? Please advise.
The saga of my vehicular inactivity vs my car battery continues. It turned over first try this time, amazingly, so I went on a little joy ride to charge it before dropping off the rent check. (Yes I have to write and drop off a paper check. It's the eighties out here.)
I saw a very long train and some black steers, unrelated to the train. I did not see the donkeys, probably because I had my phone camera ready for them.
Would really love to know how many plays Sweet's Ballroom Blitz has gotten this past few days.
