@jensimmons@front-end.social seeing the updates to hanging-punctuation reminded me. Where might the reasoning on the decision/s regarding which characters are “hung” be recorded?
I learnt from my own studies of typography that hanging punctuation helps visually even the leading edge of a column of text. Quote marks, without hanging, otherwise create small pockets of white-space beneath them – roughening the edge of a paragraph.
[Why then are brackets such as these given the same treatment?]

As it happens I spent most of my GAAD writing accessibility fail Jira issues. Finished up the day by writing a stroppy reminder to my lovely colleagues about purposeful image alt text.
