A couple of months ago I bought an #Opinel, which is French for "very sharp knife". Meanwhile, my kids have been bringing sticks home. My daughter calls one "the wolf" because one end looks like a canine head. I used the knife to peel it off (except at "the head") and carved just a little bit to accentuate the resemblance. I might buy linen oil and cover it. I could convert it into a pen/cil holder, but the wood is quite soft and might wear off too quickly. Suggestions welcome. #WoodWorking

@howking@mastodonczech.cz Roads were for people and horses, then also carts, then also bicycles, then also public transport, way before cars existed. Only during the last century cars have been prioritized. I don't use the bike for sport, I use it for transportation. I can take my kids to school in 7m (always the same time). The same trip by car is a variable 20m or more, so I have to leave at least 25m early. All on cycle lanes, so the cars aren't "stopped behind bikes", just behind more cars. @willhbr@ruby.social

Unluckily #France is getting more and more right wing, specially since the government (supposedly centrist) is OK'ing everything they bring up:

• crypto backdoors
• presumption of self defense for police brutality
• ID checks in websites
• deregulation of pesticides

The other day one of our internal bots told me one of my company passwords was about to expire. Since this thing was converted to an AI chatbot, it provided me a button that said "change now". The thing spent a few tokens just to give me URL where I could rotate it. For a company of around 600-750 people. And a password rotation policy of 45 days. All those tokens spent for a URL that could have been in the first message. #AIBrainRot

Yes, the car was convenient for a 4-5-7 sized family, visiting family and friends, or taking trips to the mountains (no trains; mostly there still aren't any). I learned to ride bikes "late" (8yo) and didn't dismount till I came to Europe (granted, to a mountainous area) and bought my first car (but I bought a bike first) and started going everywhere. Biggest trip was 8Mm in two weeks. 4/

... I watered it until it didn't take more water. It's still not clear what will happen to the wild plant; it seemed like it was dying, but now seems stable. Meanwhile, now I have uncountable sprouts coming out of the earth. I have no idea what could they be. Life is amazing.

Still, the center is buddies with the right, and everything is going to shit. Now come the elections for president. Most of the left wants to unite again, but the leftiest of them, which is a little problematic, won't dismount from his horse, so now the problem is that the left might not even reach the ballotage.

I forgot to resolve this footnote. [1] I'm looking for low maintenance but pretty plants. We pick up flowery wild plants/weeds at will. But in the end, maintenance seems mostly related to the size of the pots; smaller pots have higher surface/volume ratio and loose humidity faster.

I'm not sure I would agree to the DA's idea that, as described in that quoted statement, anything was disgusting ("not my kink, but you do you"). I also guess that CUPD refers not to the (private?) CU's police. What is not clear is why J.Doe was making a statement in the first place.
