We'll do the time warp again with you some day
Thanks Reddit, requiring a login for old.reddit.com has finally freed me from the horrible absent-minded impulse to check what the heck is going on over there.
My team at Frontier is hiring! Looking for a mid-level DevOps Engineer. Must be within commute distance of Cambridge (or willing to relocate).

FWIW the job title can be a bit misleading as we're not looking for people with a purely AWS/Azure/GCP cloud devops backround. This kind of DevOps needs people with relevant experience to building, testing and shipping games at scale.
Uh oh I think I need to start deleting some code
@ThePlant@mastodon.social baseline perf these days is shocking yeah, but you should see these monstrosities a few months before release. No amount of careful optimisation will fix the push from above to avoid screenshots and YouTube videos at 30fps looking even remotely last-gen.

#HotTake but Privacy is a right, not a virtue or panacea.
Providing entirely private spaces to anyone who asks, for free, while controlling the content of that space without any accountability because of that privacy? That's what's feeding so many of our problems these days, political or otherwise.
I guess what I'm getting at is that community and openness is also good. It's healthy to give up some privacy and let others look out for you, while you do the same in return.
Fell down a hole and woke up in a hospital, got shot by an officer in the elevator on the way out and now I'm in prison
Quite a novel way to close a bug...

"Copilot tried to solve this but it got too complicated so what you did (that we recommend you do) is now not supported"

@ThePlant@mastodon.social watch out for the cats, my dog has had a green cheek for two months
