@greene Well that sucks…guess it’s time for me to do one last backup/de-DRM cycle since that’s the method I’ve been using…

@libreoffice@fosstodon.org @btp@fosstodon.org Is there any plans for Online to have a decent API for interfacing with other applications?
i.e. if I’m hosting LibreOffice Online, would I be able to create and control a document from an external (web) application and direct a user there to edit?
If so, this might be a perfect solution for a project I’ve been working on! Interested to follow as this moves forward and see where it goes…

@mdiluz@mastodon.gamedev.place I use Slack daily - both for work, a public/general discourse workspace for a programming language, and for another group I’m a member of that I help manage the space for.
Slack is a good tool for orgs, and their AI features can be easily disabled across board which is nice.
My biggest gripe though - they advertise paid plans to all users if you’re on free, including non workspace owners. Was a bit annoying to see a sale advertisement on my work Slack for the entirety of January, for a space I have no control over other than using for discussion.

@heafnerj @raganwald @NudelnAlDente Was it Toast? I know they install App Clips (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/AppClip) when you pay by phone which is a weird system, but one that deletes itself after a short period.

@hamatti That's really awesome! I've always wished over the years that podcast apps would just adopt some auto-open URL format that can choose a "default app" like mailto: or app specific ones (ex. Obsidian's obsidian://) links...but standards are hard (obligatory XKCD link)
I was looking at the network requests trying to figure out if I could turn this into an iOS shortcut so you can grab its link straight from the share menu, but it seems to have some weird routing it does on the front-end. I wonder if that's something the creator would want to open access to.

@killyourfm @myTerminal It seems to be a very culturally oriented thing - I’ve never really encountered anyone in the US using WhatsApp outside of people who use it to communicate with people in other countries that center around it very frequently.
And the only time I’ve had it suggested to me was a professor from South America who suggested we create group chats for a project and then was baffled when no one responded that they do use WhatsApp lol

@daniel @rl_dane Yeah I mean I’m not too terribly worried about it - it’s a machine I also use for work but the uni wifi I deal with right now has port 22 full blocked which should be enough for anything right now. Just wanna have it tackled at least before I move off of said locked down network lol

@rl_dane I deleted Threads a long time ago, but the others I can’t delete. Most of the ham radio activity online is Facebook (although I finally am getting people in the local club to use Discord, which is at least better for my sanity), and I use Instagram DMs to communicate with a good chunk of people that I don’t want to sever ties with.
