Also "if someone is unsure about an image, they can ask the Gemini app" (google). What? This anti-feature is just there to boost Gemini's numbers? That's it?
It took me long enough but I've finally installed #deltaChat after reading up on it.
It looks pretty good! Onboarding in particular was a breeze. I have it on Linux and Android.

AI boosters are convinced that all that matters is the idea, not the execution. As if writing a program, or a book, is almost incidental, when actually it's through the writing (not the typing) that you get to exercise your creativity and make a myriad of decisions on the way.
Ideas are cheap, execution is the hard and interesting part.

I had a script that recorded radio programmes by capturing the output of the sound card while playing the RealAudio™ streams at the right time.
Those .wav were then turned into .mp3's, which I uploaded to my mp3 player. I could carry up to 64Mb (not Gb) of radio programmes in my pocket and listen to them at any time!
Incredible stuff.

That's why generative AI providers have to get the output cleaned up by some poor souls in the global south, at the cost of their mental health, because that's cheaper than curating the input data.

Je l'aurais mauvaise aussi si j'allais à l'Université pour y apprendre de gens brillants et payés à réfléchir, pour finalement me retrouver avec des idiots qui ne font que répéter les éléments de langages des marketeux de l'IA. Je m'attendrais à mieux.
(Disc.: je suis bien au courant des problèmes structurels à l'ESR et des énormes manques de moyens. L'IA ne fait que révéler et exacerber des problèmes préexistants)
