That said, the other Calibre fork I’ve seen since the news broke was motivated by the idea that the current LLMs are fundamentally anti-author due to their source material, a philosophical stance that makes having an LLM in a library tool particularly grating

@mpirnat that’s huge. Sucks, 100%, and my initial reaction is that refactoring with AI must be less good than refactoring with structured rules written in Rust.

@tante have you tread Vallor’s the AI Mirror, specifically chapter 6? It is I think pretty messy, but also a very breaching statement about how messy everything is and how AI tool use for good is entangled with the general ends of AI.
