The Web Development Glossary 4K:
Introducing the latest edition of “The Web Development Glossary,” featuring updated definitions and nearly 1,000 additional terms. A must for anyone looking to navigate the web ecosystem and fill in gaps they never knew existed.
When will the @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu and the EU pressure Israel and the US to stop the war on Iran?
When will the EU then also, finally pressure Israel to retreat from Lebanon, Syria, and occupied Palestine?
When will the EU cancel the EU–Israel association agreement and, to mitigate direct and indirect threats, start sanctioning and banning certain US products and tech?
That is, when will the EU stand up for human rights and international law—because what we see isn’t it?
In another world, an intl military mission just completed disarmament of Israel, reestablishing 1967 borders, with ICC trials starting against Netanyahu and other officials, and a UN mission securing peace along Israel’s borders.
The US Senate removed Trump from office, after which trials led to a conviction in a number of criminal and civil cases. He is ultimately sentenced to life in prison. Several other US officials are likewise removed and put on trial.
@smallcircles @chatcontrol @EUCommission –
Is it still a democracy if you just keep redoing the vote until you get the outcome you want?
This. While exceptions to this need specifying, repeat votes should be considered undemocratic.
There is much to learn about the Middle East, but once you dive into the history, you see the patterns.
Yet people who don’t inform themselves are a massive challenge:
A family member of mine (German) was seriously suggesting Iran should be destroyed (!) as it was about to destroy Israel, a statement that makes you wonder where it’s coming from—and is clear whom it serves.
But it’s three things the public in the west are dealing with: ignorance, hasbara, and—racism.
Like the Gaza part of occupied Palestine, you can tell how Israel is only targeting terrorists in Lebanon:
* Most people killed are civilians
* Destruction of civil and critical infrastructure
* Invasion of territory
These are “counter-terrorism operations” only for those who don’t want to see.
Israel will not stop in Palestine, Lebanon, or Iran—so when are *we* stopping this crusade?
“Some people believe that if code is written well, it is so obvious that no comments are needed. This is a delicious myth, like a rumor that ice cream is good for your health: we’d really like to believe it! Unfortunately, it’s simply not true.”
Itself a delicious quote from John K. Ousterhout, taken from “A Philosophy of Software Design”!

Do you know what the Nakba is?
(Just an—anonymous—question, though I’m particularly curious about fellow Germans answering this—personally, I learned about the Nakba only late, for neither in school nor in German media. If you didn’t know about it, please look it up.)
Only one more week until CSS Naked Day 2026 (April 9)! 👹
There Is No “Wrong” in CSS:
CSS isn’t about universal “rights” or “wrongs”—a look at why standards aren’t dogmas, and why developer intent and platform responsibility may matter more than age of technique.

If you’re into learning thousands of web development and design terms, then you’ll be excited to hear that the 3rd edition of “The Web Development Glossary” is soon to drop 🙂
If you’d like to be informed when it’s out:
Over at SitePoint, I’m challenging the notion of “wrong CSS.”
That isn’t to say that some style sheets weren’t messy, inconsistent, bloated, over-engineered, slow (or that we couldn’t and shouldn’t aim at high quality)—just that it’s hard to argue they’re “wrong.”
Is that a fair point—or do you believe there’s something like CSS that is just… wrong?
There’s a new @frontenddogma@mas.to super ebook bundle featuring all the latest titles, covering web development terminology (with “The Web Development Glossary”) and HTML and CSS optimization (as with the entire “Upgrade Your HTML” series)!
