I did not realize O.V. Brantley started the #Atlanta Quilt Festival! I can't believe I haven't covered her yet for #CelebratingBlackQuilters
Surprising number of quilt photos in the article given that it's mostly a small town newspaper article promoting a local quilt shop in #Mississippi. There's nothing too special, but I just appreciate seeing real quilts by real people when so much of what comes across my screen these days is AI generated
“Cloth becomes memory, witness and inheritance.”
Info for a Kim Alexis Newton quilt exhibit in #KansasCity (#Missouri side)
The article author talks about the scale of Newton's portrait quilts - which is tying into some thoughts I've been mulling about how big many art pieces are lately. Instead of small and intimate, I like the idea of making colossal statements right now to make sure an artist's message is heard

I read a few commentaries of each episode of #StrangeNewWorlds and check out the hashtag here on Fridays. Gotta say, the gulf between expert reviews and fan reviews feels like it’s never been larger - regular watchers are delighted with the stories while professionals are nearing hate watch territory with some saying they may quit Trek all together if the show keeps up like this. It’s kind of a weird phenomenon - with echoes of the politician/grassroots activist divide
Wish there was a 911 option for this
The bald eagle motif from the first episode being revisited in the sixth episode of First America 😳
