To make my position on this perfectly clear: I do not respect nor do I wish to be friends with people who pay for Harry Potter products. People who continue to do that are knowingly funding the active persecution of trans people worldwide and are being bad and should be shamed for their bad, fascist funding behavior

mastodon would do so much better if they'd just call instances "neighborhoods" and said that you should pick your neighborhood based on your interests, so that if you look out your window you'll see your neighbors doing things you find interesting. and that it's okay if you find out you don't like your neighborhood, because you can just move to another one! and all your followers will move with you
and then, yanno, make it easier to search for people you wanna follow cause that shit just sucks
something i dont think people really get is that when development of a game is say, 80% finished you don't have 80% of a game, you have 0% of a game and 80% of the disparate parts that would make up a game if they were actually 100% done and put together
Tolerance is a social contract and the intolerant have decided to remove themselves from that contract with their bigotry. They're not a covered party. And that is why it's just and right and good to shove them into live volcanoes
I am once again reiterating that the problem with "AI turns this bullet point into a long email I can pretend I wrote. AI makes a bullet point out of this long email I can pretend I read" is not about the problem with AI, in fact if you spend half a second thinking about it AI is being immensely helpful in this scenario, the problem is with work culture that punishes people for brevity when communicating, and I'm really tired of seeing this image over and over like it's some profound statement on AI when it's actually a scathing indictment of human work culture, especially when there are plenty of legitimate grievances about AI to go around
