So I am doing a little #gamedev protest, I am putting Moving Houses on the Epic Games Store in the HOPE that if enough indies join, maybe Valve takes notice and lowers their GIGANTIC CUT a little bit. But I need your help to wishlist, share, and make some noise. https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/moving-houses-246974

Guess who got a glossy 2x3 foot poster printed to celebrate his game being available on basically every modern gaming device? 😎

OK, assuming I pushed all the correct buttons, Moving Houses will be available on the Epic Games Store Monday May 12th with a nice launch discount! #gamedev #indiegame

‪Moving Houses is 40% off to celebrate launching on the Epic Games Store!

The "charming environments lull you into a false sense of security, only for the house to slowly reveal its true, horrifying nature” is a really weird thing to say about this cozy game!

@eniko@peoplemaking.games has their code of conduct gotten any better? I was on there and remember a talk about gamedev and related stuff only keep the personal stuff to a minimum and that's one of the reasons why I came here.

@midnightspire@mastodon.gamedev.place I had to make... 6 images for Epic. Vs... at least 14 for Steam.

@stephann@mastodon.gamedev.place I agree that this is to increase market share but I'll give them the benefit of the double about any negatives, they have decades of catching up before they can really threaten Valve.

@midnightspire@mastodon.gamedev.place Epic is the same as Valve in that regard, you pay $100 USD per game. There's no request to join, but you do need to pass quality checks (game runs, uses the overlay, achievements work if added, etc).

@engravecavedave@mastodon.social That was my previous game before this... I never bothered to try with Moving Houses because honestly the first rejection hurt enough!

@engravecavedave@mastodon.social I submitted to GOG once and they politely told me to go away.
