This bench is cool. I am cutting with hand-held circular saws for the first time in my life and I'm super careful and don't trust the murder blades. Workholding and having clearance for the blade at once isn't trivial. But here, you just have a slatted tabletop to do the job. Cool!
Hey folks 👋
@simonbs@mastodon.social recently mentioned how genuine, human blogging doesn't get the attention from The Algo's, internet's dead, etc.
I suggest a crafty countermeasure:
Swift Blog Carnival.
A host per month, setting a topic, gathering posts from the community. 🔁
To bring the community of writers together and also showcase smart people who don't have an audience.
WDYT? @mattiem@mastodon.social @donnywals@chaos.social @twostraws@mastodon.social @azamsharp@iosdev.space @dimsumthinking@mastodon.social @helge@mastodon.social @natpanferova@mastodon.social @marioguzman@mastodon.social
I volunteer to set this up
I've just fixed the LSP and SourceKit project setup for better caching of symbols in the app and now Emacs file opening takes forever for some arcane reason. Gah!
I heard Swift works for ESP32 programming.
I've heard the Xteink X4 is an ESP32 device.
Hmmmmmm
What about a Qi Charging Station but for MacBooks
I think we should ship a browser extension with a regexp that replaces phrases like
"This is what Gemini/ChatGPT/Claude/... said about ..."
with
"I shat on the carpet and this is what it told me"
Lego Movie Maker war propaganda? Ugghhnn what a weird time
I've been using the pi agent for a couple of weeks and the fact the tool is able to modify itself through interactions is really nice.
It's like starting with a less capable Emacs, but one where you don't need to spend as many years fiddling with things before you get things like UI popovers center screen to increase readability of long walls of text, for example.
I think that malleability is what draws me in.
@ivmirx I wonder if there's a parallel to requirements docs.
The analogy isn't perfect, but with requirements
- you have a lot of text
- changing the requirements is not fun
- drift happens a lot and is annoying
LLM's are much better at somewhat repeatedly compare text and code and verify spec drift.
