So when my car flooded a bit and wouldn't start I took it to the place the insurance recommended. It had good reviews so I agreed. They quoted me more than I bought the car for, well over the "cash value" that insurance would have given me so they declared it totalled. I tried calling the repair place to explain the charges, they wouldn't. After the insurance claim was withdrawn I asked if I could just get a few things repaired. They said no.
I took it to a new place. Insanely good vibes, great reviews and the owners seemed super trustworthy from what I could gather.
Not only is it repairable and not totalled, it will cost 1/16th what the previous place charged.

I think the thing that upsets me most is how many people in the infosec community have been legally persecuted for trying to help while these AI companies get to advertise crime as a marketing point with no consequences
Also to all my #Canadian friends, I am so sorry for what is going on right now. As an American, I treasure you. Our bond as two countries, two peoples will outlast this irresponsible administration. Wildfires and climate change are global crises. Our only response should be send help and address these global problems together, as friends and allies.

I just think it is really sad how little the media cares about the Sudanese civil war given the scale of the atrocities. Meanwhile the debate often seems about how hard to come down on the RSF completely forgetting that the SAF is also illegitimate and cruel. Clearly neither should be considered good stewards of Sudan. Also, the fact that the UAE called for an arms embargo over all of Sudan is laughable. Its a good idea but they have been the one smuggling weapons soooo good luck with that. I doubt the current administration feels like confronting the UAE right now in given the new Iran conflict and the fact that humanitarianism is clearly not a priority.

That was weird #UAL138 rejected the takeoff and then just continued taking off a few seconds later from where they stopped... Okay they just rejected again. Tower asked them if they wanted to try taking off from their new position and the pilot laughed and said "Not this time"
