@purplelotus13@mastodon.social @pluralistic@mamot.fr I really wish we would make fliers with dodgy bar charts and tactical voting recommendations illegal. The bar charts in particular.

@rpsu@mas.to I was against daylight saving anyway, but nothing has made me more angry about it than working on a large, cross atlantic game dev project.
Because NA move the clocks three weeks earlier, any meeting series booked by an American moves- but European-booked meetings dont move till the end of March. Daylight saving went from a one day nuisance to a three week event of meeting clashes and frantic reorganisation.

@rpsu@mas.to it used to match, but in the mid 2000s the US candy industry lobbied a date move so that it would be lighter for Halloween evenings. Canada moved to match but now there is this three week continental drift twice a year. So damn annoying.

@tojiro That's fantastic. We had a similar experience here when we installed panels. Because of an arrangement where we sell excess to the grid in summer and rebuy in winter, we managed to bring the net bill all the way down to £30 for the whole year! Best investment ever.

@jp not cut content as such, but Ratchet and Clank Collection (2012) has screenshots of the wrong games on the back (In Europe). They were clearly placed in the wrong order for the titles. 3 and 1 are reversed.

Already exists and covers 90% of US households.

@faithisleaping@anarres.family oh on a related note we had a failing PSU surge and kill three drives in my wife's PC this week. Annoying but no actual data lost thanks to the NAS server, which has backups of everything. Damn glad we did it about six months ago.

@CursedSilicon@social.restless.systems @kirb@hachyderm.io @TechTangents@dialup.space IIRC the Teams team are also back in office, which must sting twice as much. RTO mandates are often just ways of reducing headcount through resignations without actually doing layoffs and paying severance though.

@crowgirl@hachyderm.io glad there was a happy ending. About ten years ago I nearly lost a ton of critical files because they were only on a USB stick that fell out of my pocket when sitting on the grass in a park. Miraculously I did find the spot and the memory stick later that day- and since then everything has many backups.

@skeletor wisdom of Skeletor.
Its funny how Disney credits Hercules with putting "put the glad- in gladiator" when his mother Hera may have actually have put the her- in hero. It would have meant something like "defender" at the time.

@faithisleaping@anarres.family i built a NAS last year out of spare parts- just bought new drives to build out an old PC and run TrueNAS on it. Only outlay was the drives themselves. Usually you dont even need the GPU once its set up.

@jp@polymaths.social thanks. Can't find much discourse online about it so it may have gone largely unnoticed, as the layout varied by region. A friend spotted it at the time.
