The travel thing is a real issue, but there are other non-Apple/Samsung stores that will repair. Shipping is a thing, but I recognize the cost and loss of a phone for several days.
Still - if overnight shipping both ways costs $100, it’s still quite inexpensive vs the overall cost of a phone. ($700 phone + $600/year for service). (2/3)

I could certainly be wrong, but saving $50 every 2-3 years to keep a $700-1200 product working well (and it costs $50-75/mo to use it) isn’t worth the worse products. I’ll point out that there have been smartphones that could do this, and they don’t sell *because they’re not what consumers want.*

Just search Amazon for anti-vax books. Fox News and the like. Joe Rogan and any number of “influencers “ and talking heads. Businesses selling all sorts of “treatments,” essential oils, and homeopathic crap.
Killing people and putting their health at risk is big business.

@agreenberg@infosec.exchange @inthehands@hachyderm.io It’s worse. These are installed on the wiring harness with pinch/pierce connectors. They permanently pierce the wiring in your car. Even if it’s physically removed your wiring harness is permanently damaged.
It’s pie in the sky, but this should be a full wiring harness replacement at a minimum, and I’d argue that the entire car should be replaced because you can’t do that since repair and leave the car like new.

There’s got to be some design trend involving forums, magazines, and awards. My work stuff is *full* of paper cuts like this, and they tell me it’s been produced by award winning developers and it’s great and loved.

Just infuriating and wasteful that to buy more of the bandages that we use (5/8” x 2 1/4”) the *only* way to buy that size or even close from #BandAid brand is to buy an assorted pack. So wasteful.
Bought #Curad brand instead, and even then could only get close at 3/4” x 2 1/2”. And I overpaid. But I’ll be d**ned if I’m going to waste like that. Ugh.
