@catileptic what the fuck? if anyone did that to my order i'd withdraw it. today, for instance, I ordered a massive tub of premium drinking choc and a coca cola plush polar bear from a well known site, items that have no relation to each other. if the site pulled same stunt as the site you visited did i'd be cancelling.

@anon_opin my brother in law who is an american had one of these, it cost a packet to run and was a mess to park in the UK. he and my sister went back to the states and the truck went with him and my sister, and a few weeks later, the truck's engine blew up and they went for something smaller. now it's an ex truck.

@PepperTheVixen okay, I have a solution, it is for windows though, so might not be useful unless you can translate it to your os. it uses vlc and looping the constant playing of white noise on low volume

okay, I got this from apple when I asked what forms of id were accepted for age verification as passports and debit cards don't work. "If you don’t have a driving license or a credit card, Apple accept PASS-accredited Proof of Age cards from the following issuers: Citizencard, Young Scot, MyID, and Totum ID. They are nationally recognised photo IDs designed to prove your age, and display a photo, name, and date of birth."

@FreakyFwoof I told windows it was a **** and a ****! and then went settings diving. what a mess the setup is now. talk about hunting for a needle in a haystack. I think it must have been an update that did all this, for it has only just happened. all power saving junk and all that, and on a pc too. what's the point? laptops yes, but a pc?

@FreakyFwoof snobbish? if you work the way you do, you need good gear and what's the point of using diffrent kit for regular pc use than that which you'd use for music production? may as well route the whole lot through the same kit. another thing my pc decided to do, not of my wanting, was to turn off my analogue headphones on my main board sound. and what a mess it was to find that setting and re-enable it. Raging.

@parakeetprincess@mstdn.social how big are your plush? a foot long? two feet tall? the corner hammocks can take some quite large plush, though as it's a corner hammock, they do dangle a bit. I have a straihgt wall hammock that is deep and better for larger sitting plush rather than plush that is lying down pose.

Replying to
@parakeetprincess@mstdn.social best way I found to put hammocks up is to put the hammock on the hook, then pull it and you get the strech of the hammock, you want it a bit back from full stretch, so stretch it fully, then come back a bit. stretched but not overstretched, otherwise the hook will ping out of the fastening, or worse, pull the sticky off the wall.

@parakeetprincess@mstdn.social ok, as the urls are too long for my instance, go to amazon and look for "Hushtong Adhesive Hooks." these are the ones I use. others are available, but these are built like granit. the sticky backed thing into which the metal hook clips, and you hang stuff off the hook. so when you're measuring for where to place hammock, measure the length of the hook and the hammock will hang below that, so you want any hook stick guide to be above where the hammock loop will be.

@FreakyFwoof i never had that I don't think. we were always putting the discs in at the beginning of the lessons if I remember rightly. and woe betide you if you hit the break key by mistake rather than another key that was close by, the one you really wanted.
