Being watched over by the snuggliest nurse..
She's serious about me doing the rest thing today
So. The last few days an anniversary was coming up. And I've been not really looking forward to it. "It's just another day" I've been telling myself, my colleagues and my partner.
But at some point today I kinda broke on that grumpy waiving off of things.
So, yeah. I realized, I do kinda want the fuss. I do want a bit of yay!
So I'll blow it up now and say it's my birthday. I've been busy working all day but I did treat myself to ramen and I'm gonna crack a beer now.
It's a new number but I wouldn't say get excited about that.
But a little fuss, a little yay! (lowercase yayness please) would be nice.
Please?
I got Outside (tm) for a little while.... Bit nippy for an August evening, I must say.
Joking I've used up my "movement points" for the day...
It was nice to be in the cool air, bats flying silently above and around.
And an occasional screm from She Who Must Be Obeyed, winding around my ankles (slightly risky move still).
But it's just a moment. I'm not ready to stand long enough to assist and certainly not without some pain.
Still feels like a bit further progress.
My next check is with work on Monday. Gotta call, provide an update and go from there...
I can't recall if I mentioned, we have 3 baby seagulls that were nesting above the station exit near our lounge. One fell (or tried to fly, maybe) on to the glass roof at that entrance.
From seeing those little feet above me, I've kinda been invested in their wellbeing.
Then we got a second and they migrated to "ground level living" in the car park. And we gained a third fluffy, gray shouty puffball.
A few weeks later, boy have they grown!
I've seen two doing test flights but I dunno about the third.
Really proud of them and I'm going to be sad when they fly away
Y'know, I don't think I've posted any Quality Cat Content™ in a while. So...

Today's #earworm was the instruction that got me moving this morning.
Gotta get up (and Ride On Time)
It's Black Box. (And a blast from British nostalgic past)

@FritzAdalis@infosec.exchange @emilvolk@tiggi.es good question. Is Nyan cat subject to the linear nature of time?
The drifty opening riff on Limp Bizkit's Mission Impossible theme... 👌
Not feeling it the last few days.. more up and down.
Is it coincidence my last prog dose was a few days ago?
Does it impact on mood?
Do I need to move resources to get more?

@gwynnion@mastodon.social a little bit extra money to launder some reputations... A legal threat here and there...
Totally not intending to stay up past midnight for the #ForzaHorizon6 early access.
But, well... Things happened, siren calls sung to me and here I am at 00.30 having done the opening sequence.
I'm absolutely dead, but so excited!
From the Trans Advocacy & Complaints Collective (TACC) site, some wise words...

It was cool to meet a friend off Discord for the first time. Getting to just hang out together in person was a blast.
Definitely doing that again

@maartje@blahaj.social I've had a few queries from folks if the Guard path would appeal, but I dunno... I really like the PA role and getting to help many different folk throughout the day.
It feels like a guard would be limited to a few local routes and it'd lose it's appeal too quickly.
Although I am very open to my mind being changed.. (if any TOC guards are reading/lurking)
Good morning! I feel tired today but gonna push through.
I have a moment to revisit the sidequest, so... Part 3 gives me an opportunity to cite another charity.
This is Northern's "Rob Burrow CBE - Journey of Strength"
And this livery supports charity for Motor Neurone Disease.

Today, try to show yourself a little compassion.
You're doing your best on a small rock, flying around an ongoing nuclear explosion and flying at great speed too.
Whether you feel 30%, 75% or 100% the effort is Good enough.
So please be nice to yourself.
Oh, em, gee... (And genuinely no snark here).
It seems we're flying through supernova debris.
This sounds so cool!
