I was looking at an article image comparing Jimmy Carter to Trump. And it suddenly occured to me why I thought trump's face looked familiar. His eyes look identical to every Down's Syndrom child I've ever seen. I think he was 1/2 a chromosome away from being an actual caring human being.

@david_chisnall@infosec.exchange That's the exact strategy I took back in 2007 while managing my own IT business. I was a "certified Microsoft everything" but had been working with pretty much every OS out there at the time because my clientelle was diverse. I switched to open-source software first, one here, one there, and eventually had replaced all things MS. I then ran a dual-boot system until I was comfortable with using my new open source OS. 19 years later, I've almost convince my wife to give it a up

@Tutanota@mastodon.social IT feels so nice not to have to care about what some massive greedy corporation does. Well, within my own life, anyway. Sorry for all the others whose life it continually ruins.

@Vivaldi I'd long ago quit using Chrome, had installed several other options, and moved entirely to Firefox a while ago, but their gradual moves to include AI have soured me on them as well. I did download Vivaldi, Brave, and some others, LibreWolf included. I do not trust anything google any longer. Not that Vivaldi has anything to do with them, but I'm hedging my bets by removing anything Chromium from my system. Even IF Linux is far safer than other OS's. We've had RI in FOSS for ages.

@georgetakei@universeodon.com The show was ONLY Star Trek when the entire cast was participating. There is no such thing as a Star Trek without the entire crew. It felt as much an exploration of the human heart, mind and soul as it was other worlds.
And One of them was Tu.

We tried Aldi a few times. I DO like it because it's just a small store with a few aisles and almost nothing but food. But there isn't much value in something you can't or won't eat after you've purchased it.

IF YOU WATCH THIS, COMMENT ON IT ON YOUTUBE! It HELPS! Our newest video is out and starting off pretty great! We go into the sudden huge rise in costs for almost everything we depend on today. And if it makes sense to think about using solar energy to help mitigate some of that expense, or ALL of it. We show you 3 ways to make the move. Small steps to big leap.
