mastodon 4.7.3Gerry is a vintage #Scotsman, retired information scientist, self-taught guitarist, gardening noob and part-time spaniel sitter🐶 Currently dabbling in #Linux #SelfHosting and #Owncast among other things. Once I get my head around this stuff I plan to do some live jams and talk shite on the internet.

He's almost 5 years old now but he's still got a mischievous streak!🥰

This is his "I want" face. Needless to say it often works.

Sleeping on the floor in front of the door in case I dare try to go out without him.

It would've been tagged as silent Sunday if it wasn't for the snoring.

By way of an overdue #introduction; I'm rather a simple soul, I mainly enjoy tinkering with #computers, strumming #guitars and a wee bit of #spaniel sitting. I'm now taking some tentative first steps into #gardening too, just to fall in with the #retired stereotype I suppose. I'm also reading the #internet and I'm currently about halfway through it. I detest #BigTech, the #algorithm, #AI and #SurveillanceCapitalism. I love the #Fediverse because it reminds me of the olde worlde internet. I try to post/boost a little bit of everything and anything, including #art, #science, #botany, #transport, #animals, #architecture and #humour, without getting too mired in #politics, although it's not easy to avoid politics when you care about #nature and the #environment. I'm happy to interact with everyone/anyone irrespective of creed, colour, nationality or gender/sexual preferences. In the nicest sense of the word, I really don't give a fuck what you are. I consider myself to be a floating voter of centre/left leaning persuasion. I support the notion of managed #degrowth and #social responsibility. I would rather discuss the common ground we share and aim to respect our differences. I try to avoid fuckwits wherever I encounter them. That'll do for now although I dare say I'll edit this over time. Thanks for reading and peace out☮️
Little man you've had a busy day. (reposted)

Baxter was born to sniff. He won’t chase a ball, he won’t bring a stick back to you (he will just lay down and chew on it), but he just loves to read the news.

He's all ears but he doesn't always listen too good. He's not supposed to be on the bed and he knows it. Selective deafness apparently.

Should the UK and Europe consider boycotting the World Cup and the Olympic Games if the #US attacked #Iranian civilian infrastructure? Wouldn’t it be a good idea to float this prospect to this petulant man baby before he makes his next move? I’d like to see our journalists ask our political leaders about this, instead of just parroting Trump’s sensationalist comments on their media. It’s not our war but that’s not an excuse to look the other way. #usa #uspol #uk #ukpol #eu #europe #politics #iran

You may kiss it.
I'm curious about how the wider #tech community view this seemingly contentious issue. Please feel free to vote and boost for a larger sample size. Thanks in advance for participating.

#RandyRainbow on top form as always😂
You know what #Murica, you could do worse than elect this guy into high office.
@Lazarou@mastodon.social Well look who’s found his voice today:

Sir Spineless puts his head above the parapet because those Saudi arses aren’t going to kiss themselves. I note not a word of rebuke for the orange man baby.
A final boost before this poll closes - feel free to vote and share.
Thanks to all who voted/boosted. Seems like it's not such a contentious issue after all if this poll is in any way representative.
