i like #art, humans , animals, plants and the #universe. Also rhythms, sounds, movement and song. I try to live like if a future was possible and like if we weren't scared shit. I try to find meaning and divinity in a torrent of death that envelops us, and sometimes pierces my body and soul. As the everyday stunning beauty and divinity of creation does. Laughter helps . And dance. I don't love politics, but we're all inundated in it so there's no ignoring them. Trying to find ways to live as that real, divergent, me, that feels like if we not only should all be one but actually are. Laughable under todays conditions. I know. But still.

#solarpunk
isn't that a nice story? : "those solar panels had to go somewhere. Mostly, they ended up in Pakistan, dumped there at such a massive discount that the country solarized virtually overnight. Pakistani solar installers learned their trade from Tiktok videos set to Tamil film soundtracks, and unwired the country so thoroughly that today, the national power company is in danger of going bust because no one buys their electricity from the grid anymore. Pakistani bridal dowries now routinely include four panels, an inverter and a battery:

#birds #science this is really comical, I had to laugh out loud reading it: Apparently biologists have been so sexist that female birdsong was represented in their research like as 0. something% of the whole. We were all taught, that female birds don't sing. While it is much closer to 50 %, somewhat less in the northern hemisphere. Is there any place men are not projecting their crazy worldview on? We see what we project outward, wherever we look, I 'spose. But this strikes me as rather funny. Really. I mean... Does it ever stop...at anything..
it reminds me of men that shush women that laugh" too loudly". https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/apr/19/hidden-world-of-female-birdsong-book

#Iran #solarpunk let's look at the bright side: the president of the US is employing the biggest military force of the planet to create a massive wave of solar and wind installation, a massive support program for Chinese and other EV makers, a bright spotlight on the destructive grip of oil dependency and a ton of trouble for fossil fuel politicians. In other words: Change.
While two boys are having a tantrum in the sandbox, banging their shovels onto each others head , until it bleeds, the rest of the world is forced to move That may not have been the intention, but it may be the most lasting part of the outcome.

@phantanews @pluralistic I am wondering, reading cory doctorovs newest article about #fascism as a result of austerity and missing public services. what role #feminism plays in this. Or more specifically: the decline in willingness to provide unpaid services, emotional support, security and psychological status/feelings of power and satisfaction to men. There seem to be a lot of similarity in the experience of someone who loses healthcare and a man whos emotional care and daily unpaid services provided by women is withdrawn from him. Pluralistic thinks it is" reasonable to assume, that people react that way. " ( with fascism) Well "people" is not a very sharp word to use here. Why are women not reacting that way to the many services, securities, comforts and support that have always been missing from their lives? I keep coming back to a realization, that any analysis of "people" and society, be it psychological, social, or political, must take the category of gender, must take the underlying patriarchy into account, in order to accurately describe reality He closes with "Socialism or barbarism" isn't just a cliche – it's actually a choice on the ballot. Is the way I assume roles of empathy, care and responsibility in relationships, the way I invest my energy towards someone elses needs, raise children, the "socialism" in this? And is "barbary" the way a deeply patriarchal male will lead his life, expecting to be served, not serving others, unless they are his overlords, promising reward? We will need new words for all of this, as our understanding becomes more holistic, as we integrate the invisible sphere of female experience into it.

#epstein #giselepelicot #metoo people are still saying things like "I'm so shocked or " this changes my worldview," or" i would never have guessed".
And that makes me angry. Abuse, rape and assault are the darkness in all our lives. They are crimes as common as shoplifting. Few women can say of themselves that they have never experienced any case of verbal or physical sexual assault. If any. About a third of us have experienced more serious forms of violence like rape or grave physical assault. It's deeply ingrained in our culture. It's everyday experience.
A third. That means if not you, than either your sister or your mum. The trauma is there. Spoken or unspoken. How can anyone not know. How can anyone not see. How can anyone not be aware.
This "surprise" tells the whole story of why victims stay silent. Why they are not being believed. why it is possible for this to go on. Why it is so easy for perpetrators and so hard for victims. The perpetrator asks nothing of you, only that you keep being ignorant. The victim asks everything of you. That you process this world of horror that shakes the ground under your feet and that exists in plain sight. And that is the world you have lived in all along. That is you rmums world. Your sisters world. Ours.

https://aeon.co/essays/why-little-red-dots-pose-a-big-mystery-about-the-universe
#science #astrophysics
a researcher asks whether "the universe is broken" cus observation matches no known theory. This is why i never went into science, even though i had top grades in all of those subjects. The arrogance.
I mean, there is this tiny little being on this tiny little speck of dust in this marvelous unfathomably large organism and it has these tiny little dim ideas about said unlimited organism. And when some dimwit observation with limited instruments doesn't meet it's idea, it asks, whether the universe is broken? I know what's broken. And that is the culture behind that
I do get excited sometimes about science, espc. astrophysics. I do read about quantum physics and stuff and it's really interesting, But its a lot of groping around in the dark. And if something works as expected, we don't know why it does that. That much is obvious to me. And in to that dark, science projects its own ideas. The limitations of the culture their from. And if you can't be aware of that, as a scientist, you are woefully blind. It always looked to me, like if that whole area requires a good portion of that blind arrogance in order to be in it and be aligned with your peers and the general values.

A myth of strength. A patriarchal myth. Created by trauma in childhood, and later part of toxic maskulinity. many of us have not experienced inter-dependency as connectedness and bliss. We carry scars of lack, dangerous enmeshment and powerlessness that we need to heal on our way to becoming full members of an interconnected community we can depend on. Dependency is deeply emotional. Realizing and creating a healthy web around us is healing.

#women #womensrights #gender #feminism #men #change
today I read some news( about gendered violence) and some long held feelings and thoughts coalesced and formed some stream of consciousness blogpost. And, funny enough, shortly after I found another blogpost that seemed to express the exact same ideas and sentiment, only in a very different language and with many more words. Also with added numbers and reasearch that seem to support the idea, that I am not the only woman feeling this way at this moment in time.
Here are my thoughts

https://rant.li/attamtamatrant-li/end-of-care-9wz3

and here is that other blog, that speaks about the same reality that we all experience

#men #gender #women #feminism #patriarchy #mothersday #womensrights When women speak 30% of the time in mixed gender dialog, people perceive them as “dominating” the room. Some studies find that in mixed gender groups, women contribute to conversation less than 75% of the time men do. Women only approach conversational parity when we achieve an overwhelming majority (80%+). A 2018 study of quarterly corporate conference calls found that men speak 92% of the time.
from the blogpost
https://sorayachemaly.substack.com/p/26-its-not-only-the-violence-women

I recently spoke with an acquaintance who is a member of the green party.(germany) the party has a womensstatute. which makes it mandatory that in official discussions there must be a 50/50 speakers list and when no woman wants to speak anymore, the discussion is closed. There is also the 50/50 rule of how lists for elections are created. Yet, the internal structure of the party is riddled with a few male egos that demand a large chunk of everyone's time and energy, like to attack women and don't care about how much trouble they inflict. Male party members very seldom dare to confront this , it falls to the women to exert their precious energy in dealing with it.
So, nothing new here.

I found out that I have to frame my thoughts with some social engineering blah, if I want to have a better chance at being heard and maybe bring myself into a better position for when the backlash arrives. lies are so prevalent in any social system, no matter where. I've learned to live with that reality. That's not the same as not wantng to hurt peoples feelings. Which I genuinely don't want.

#epstein #metoo #giselepelicot this is a wonderful interview that tells you everything you nee to hear about public amnesia and about" not all men" https://youtu.be/wtE9cbwaBnE
Manon Garcia, who is being interviewed here, has also written several books worth reading. What I particularly like about her is, that she takes us right back to the banality of evil and to how nazi Germany worked. With all those good dads and family men enacting the holocaust or serving some minuscule function in the whole process and the workings of an authoritarian society. Its basically the same pattern of the darkness and dehumanization being embedded in everyday culture.

#iran the only thing we can and should do is to install batteries, solar, wind, as fast as we can. It'll be years till this situation is over. The damaged facilities will take time to repair. If we had a green government, this would be the chance to put the necessary changes onto the priority express lane. Use the pain to accelerate lasting solutions. That's what every sane democracy would do, that looks to the benefit of its citizens.
