I have intentionally bent some steel! It even went roughly where I wanted and I didn't get burned. #Blacksmithing #emfcamp

Just watched a guy on an electric fatbike whizz up the road in excess of 30km/h without peddling, fly through a red light and up on to the pavement.
Where he was stopped by the police, and was arguing with them as I walked past.

bad CPU type in executable: ./osx-intel
file osx-intel
osx-intel: Mach-O executable i386
I'm on a intel machine! Too new an intel machine I think.
I think this is cursed. I should probably spin up a linux VM and do the building in that.

Adding my material to a paper written in MS word, it already has 3 authors' contributions in it. They have left random formatting and colours littered throughout it.
You type anywhere and there's a good change half way though a sentence the text will change to bold red on a yellow background.
I think they are going to get a plain text file from me and they can deal with the mess they made.

Edit - Have ordered an Anker GaN device. Thanks for the replies.
What's a good USB-C power-supply? I want something along the lines of 65W or so for soldering iron power and charging batteries.
I'm assuming I want a GaN based device.
I'd appreciate personal recomendatoions of something you've used that hasn't burned down your house.

I must not bid on online SEM auctions. Especially not for ones that use a diffusion pump. I don't have water to my shed.

Of course TI releases the linux tools as 64 bit, despite them being 32bit on OSX.

Today I am mostly imaging Diprotodon teeth.
Diprotodons look like they would have been cute.

These are the wheels currently on the trolley. I can't increase the diameter much without extending the axle so the wheels don't foul the frame.

@VickForcella@mastodon.derg.nz We're up to our 5th. It's ridiculous.
We rarely get a day at 30C, this year we've had many.

@davep@infosec.exchange @Extelec@mstdn.social @a2es@mstdn.social I don't know. I've never really looked at the beam shape of a cut off dish. My gut says in the line of the wide part of the dish, but I think you may have to experiment, you might find it makes no real difference.

@davep@infosec.exchange @Extelec@mstdn.social @a2es@mstdn.social you won't really get a sharp focus, you get a spot about 1.2 * wavelength / dish diameter at absolute best.

@Extelec@mstdn.social @davep@infosec.exchange @a2es@mstdn.social using the sun for focus is definitely the easiest way. Don't look at focal spot with remaining eye, however.

The SDK didn't download and TI seems to have hidden it away.
My TI account is so old, I can't reset the password on it to log in.

I can't move the compiler to /bin or even link it there, so I'm trying to find out where this path is generated (I can't see it hard coded anywhere)
/bin/arm-none-eabi-gcc

@azonenberg@ioc.exchange One of the other shops near work uses those, there's usually a queue at the cashier desk as people avoid the self-service there.

The co-op self-service tills have had a UI change!
I've years of muscle memory dedicated to the old UI. I can hit the options before it prompts and stop the till chatting at me.
Now it's different for no good reason and I'm left with the till prompting me like I've never used self-service before.
They changed the voice too!
