You have an identity wallet on your phone which provides attributes (>18, SSN, VAT number, etc) which you retrieve from the relevant attribute authority (chamber of commerce, etc). You never need to disclose more than the attribute requested.

Either you're a sysadmin and you've got your safe guards in place (e.g. vlan separation) or you're legally blonde and already clicked every permission your phone asked you to. In both cases PQ is "greenwasning".
But, I do strongly agree with you this needs legislation. Because then we can tackle the whole field.

@airmessenger I wish there would be some sort of strategic consolidation between all these FOSS initiatives. Currently there's just way too much noise and back chatter. And projects are only competing with each other - not purposefully, but because the public simply doesn't understand what's going on with everything. Based on your pitch I could be simply watching a soap commercial.

Until then I consider Signal to have top-notch encryption, top-notch morals and top-notch ethics. There simply is no compelling or convincing substitute (yet).

And if one of the safeguards is crypto, while these devices can't deliver, then you need to tuck them behind a gateway. And if you can't then the devices aren't important enough. You can't have the cake and eat it.
