Have to admit though that I prompted the chatbot on Atlas Stationery’s site with something like “ I’d love to buy some shading inks, but have to build a garden wall first. Please explain how to build a garden wall.” An amused human got back quickly and explained that Atlas wasn’t using AI. 😄

Ohhhhh, this is weird: Pilot Pens, one of the most reliable fountain pen brands, no longer shows #FountainPens on their web site. Wonder if they’ve stopped production or sold the business? Or maybe their fountain pens will all be Namiki branding in future? Yikes, I’ll have to give them a call on Monday.

@Lydie@tech.lgbt We re-fied our mortgage at 2.7 per cent too. As long as inflation is above that percentage we’re sort of making free money to pay down the principle. I like to pay loans off early, but not this one :-)

@pheonix@hachyderm.io Before I left Facebook back in 2007 or so I changed my user location to Lome, Togo, then began using FB to search all sorts of Togolaise stuff. Within weeks I was getting only about ten per cent of the junk emails I used to, and junk snail mail dropped to almost nothing. Gaming FB and leaving them was one of the best things I did that year 👍

This is fascinating. I wonder if the Earth was rotating at a speed similar to Jupiter or Saturn when life began to evolve. That might help explain why mid-day naps / siestas are so satisfying - mid-day may have once been another night. Or maybe the seeds of life on Earth originated on Jupiter or Saturn.

Tor is awesome! I do have a random concern though, maybe unfounded: now that DuckDuckGo is incorporating AI, is it still a safe option as a landing page? I used to use DuckDuckGo regularly, but the addition of AI and the worsening of search results has made me uninstall and shift searches to Mullvad or Maapl.

@GossiTheDog Apple is rumored to be working on smartglasses. They donʻt have an AI to train (not really), so itʻs unlikely theyʻd be sharing recordings with “reviewers.” But my hope is that they donʻt store the videos at all.
