"The Tiffany problem refers to the issue where a historical or realistic fact seems anachronistic or unrealistic to modern audiences of historical fiction, despite being accurate."
The goal with RabbitWaves was always to use storytelling to teach traditional and general seagoing skills, to make it possible to click on certain objects featured in a comic to learn more about them.
This is the first step towards that goal :>! The page looks better when viewed on the website:

Watched Delicatessen yesterday. The sets and characters in this film are so fun.

Everytime I eat salty liquorice I'm always like... WHY do I love this?
I really, really am, though :flan_tired:
Replying to
@gureito I didnt like it the first time i had some, then i started thinking about it, then next time I loved it. Super strange how that happens.

@rostiger@merveilles.town For sure, that's the goal :P! Ideally all topics on RabbitWaves would be introduced via clickable items featured in the comic

@ccohanlon those are nasty-looking bruises. Glad you're mostly ok, though that is a terrible experience.
Replying to
@rostiger@merveilles.town I've never seen one like it, the little bowl on the side is so handy.

@ccohanlon @esi I did not know that licorice root had potent pharmacologic effects :O. Thx for the info.

@ccohanlon I'd feel the same if that happened to me, even if I know it only serves to bring me down. I've felt deep embarassment for a lot less.

@tty I watched a video compilation of Doctor Claw quotes while drawing this, things he says to Gadjet at the end of episodes. There are soooo many hilarious variations.

@xyhhx@merveilles.town Yea, you just need to stir constantly, the pan needs to be quite hot too.

@tty The backstay replacement was due to a big cut we found in one of the strands, it was compromised.
For the headstay, its very old, never been replaced, and the stay is hidden under a roller furler sleeve so we never get to see it(removing the sleeve is a bit involved). Given how much we've sailed that boat and that we dont know the true age of that stay, it's just safer to replace it.

@arosien@fosstodon.org I’m familiar with that one already, it’s a personal favourite ^_____^
Been reading The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison aloud to Devine every evening. Enjoying it so far. This is a very good book to make voices for ^^...
I can't remember who on the fediverse gave this recommendation, but thank you ^^!
