I'm a maker (mould making, 3D printing, electronics, programming, sewing, ++) and like stuff that gives me an excuse to use those skills (e.g. #Steampunk). I also like #wargaming and game design. Things I love: #Gorkamorka and the #MiniDisc format.
I'm the sound engineer for @thecwordpodcast@glammr.us (a #podcast about museum conservators) and run a tiny miniatures company too.

@lichendust if your site only has a form to ask for a quote, you're dead to me. If I could afford you then you'd have a price.

@hakona @Kristian_Kiehling at least one of them looks like a shotgun with a box mag. It's hard to tell given the distortion of the fish eye lens.

@rejectpetitions@bot.country Hoooh boy, don't get into "legal names". Not a thing in the UK and there's a barmy conspiracy theory related to the term: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-36499750

@SuperSelena64@vmst.io I think the lack of uniformity is charming. Gives the board more of a story!

@SunDancer it seems to be a cool batch but I've no investment in the full box. Might pick up stuff later, but what's the hurry?

@considermycat cool, I was asking because I've just spent a week enduring something that didn't have flu symptoms but left me coughing my lungs out, swollen glands, runny nose, and various other horrors.
It didn't leave me bedbound, and when I had COVID that was more flu-like. We didn't have convenient access to tests so I don't know if it was some variant or just a really nasty chest infection.
Regardless we always mask as sharing isn't always caring!

@considermycat In my mind a flu has more fever symptoms, drastically lower energy levels, and that sort of thing. Is that incorrect?

@The_Whore_of_Blahbylon if anything reading her books is a good way to avoid falling for her nonsense. I couldn't finish Atlas Shrugged. Some elements of it were quite cool, in the sense of atmosphere and world building. If that had been the book then it would have been pretty good. Alas she cack-handedly tried to describe her insane system that doesn't make any bloody sense and falls over at the slightest bit of criticism. Horrible.

@stefan@stefanbohacek.online @lispi314@udongein.xyz This was my line of thinking when writing my bio on here. I have a job that pays the bills - the details of it aren't worth mentioning when talking about who I am.

@workchronicles@mastodon.social I do this at work all the time. On Monday I was relaxing in a coffee shop for a while doing no work. Came back to my desk a while later and hit flow state, smashed the problem.
A huge chunk of my work is getting my brain to the state where I can quickly solve a problem. Time spent not working is literally some of the most valuable for solving a problem.

@aquasscum I've never actually bothered to have a conversation with random people that might want to interrogate me about my mask. Their opinion is of no interest to me. Other than when my sister brought COVID home from London I haven't had a respiratory infection of any kind in five years. I'm trying to keep it that way!

Why is it that most gates at a given airport have loads of amenities but invariably the one I'm stuck at has, at best, an insulting expensive vending machine and an air of urban decay?

@SwanseaBayNews@toot.wales nice, that'll make my work trips a hell of a lot easier to plan. Currently they're a mess that can easily end up taking forever at the slightest hiccough.

@maccruiskeen@social.linux.pizza I was thinking more about when my brain is tired from a previous problem and I know I've got another one to tackle. I could sit at my desk getting more tired and frustrated or I could do something that gets me back to a good state.
On Monday it was rewriting MP4 boxes with dynamic values based on various inputs. I needed a bit of a mental run up, so to speak!
