I got my R.O.B. the Robot for the original Nintendo working last night after having to basically rebuild the insides of the spinner motor because it was so corroded!
But look how cool he is!
This weekend I desoldered all the RAM on yet another Atari 130XE to add in sockets for the chips, and I think I did a damn clean job!
(Though I wish I hadn't had to use 1 white socket right at the end 😅)
Lifting pins is scary business, but I managed it and now one of my PlayStations is rocking an sd-loading Xstation ODE!

It's not a particular expensive variant, but it's different and Famitsu Magazine is cool, so I love this being the Pocket in my collection!

An absolute ton of silliness went into this - using the wrong-sized chip to load the Milton Bradley firmware on my CGE Vectrex in order to troubleshoot a software issue to see if the firmware was the issue.
It's really neat seeing my Vectrex boot up with the clean "VECTREX" logo of Milton Bradley.
It's the weekend! 🥳
I'll try not to repair anything and just enjoy my games and some intoxicants!

For #throwbackthursday how about when I picked up an Ouya for $20 expecting it to be a paperweight because the service was long gone, only to discover fan-run archival servers keeping it going!

This disk came in a box of Atari 130XE stuff but says Commodore 64 on it
I figured it got tossed in by mistake.
You can also see glue dots coming through the label so I flipped it around to have the nicer label facing out- and the other side of this disk is Atari format!
I didn't know they did that!

Under used feature, but super cool and best Nintendo to the punch with GBA-GameCube connectivity!
I really love how they fixed mouse controls in the new "FX3 chip" version of Doom for Super Nintendo and now you can use the controller in your left hand as WASD while you use the mouse!
As tends to happen often with me, after restoring my Atari 130XE, some new hardware suddenly falls on my lap unexpectedly. In this case the Atari 1050 disk drive, so now I can load games (and software if I wanted to) through the big 'ol floppies!
There's an NTSC-patched version of the PAL-exclusive WipeOut 3 Special Edition, so I put a copy on my new Xstation modded PS1 and burnt a copy for my modchipped PS1 and then serial linked the two for some sweet networked head-to-head at the smooth 30 fps that this version can do!

The Power Base Converter only fits on my Model 1 Genesis, so the 32X stays on my Model 2. But you gotta love that disk tray on the model 1 Sega CD 😍
The default black Atari joysticks are iconic perhaps, but not the best in my opinion.
Yesterday I got this Wico Command Control stick that lets you toggle between using the button on the base or the button in the top and I gotta say it's really, really nice!
The very first game Teeny Selenie ever emulated a million years ago was the Japanese Godzilla 2 for NES (Famicom), and it made me fall in love with Advance Wars Style turn-based tactics games!
I'm finally playing Super Famicom Wars and am absolutely loving it!
