Re. The discourse: every single instance on our blocklist that's blocked with the reason 'racism' is blocked because of racism. White people opining about it, pretending we're lying, or just flat out refusing to accept it, does not change the fact.
Yes, our blocklist is large. It would be smaller if fewer of you were racist. :)
I remind you all that our mod team is mostly global majority people. Very few of us are white. We are all some combo of queer, NB, ND, disabled.
Gentle reminder considering recent events, please *please* use content warnings when discussing politics, violence, and especially political violence.
What has happened is awful. It's important people know what's going on in Minneapolis, in the USA, in Venezuela, in Gaza, etc.. But it's also important that you let people brace for that information if they need to.
Content Warnings let people prepare themselves; you'll gain readers by using them. Please use them.
It will never, ever, *ever* be the responsibility of marginalised people to tolerate harassment, abuse, bigotry, hate speech, fascism, etc. just so priviliged people get a broader social reach.
It will never be the responsibility of marginalised folk to have to do the moderation work of other unmoderated communities just so white guys can get a few more likes.
