hello, yes. This is the second book in a month I've read where world-building has cows being milked, but it's specified there are no babies or bulls. You have to breed them, they have to be pregnant and give birth for milk to happen.
They are mammals. Women don't just squeeze out milk whenever. Neither do cows.
How is it that authors and editors do not know this very basic fact? This is elementary school biology--field trip to a farm stuff.

It's weird. Earlier this week, I was really fired up and excited to start a comic about my experiences swimming. Today, I feel a lot of doubt and fear.
I worry that it'll be dull. I worry that it will be too vulnerable. I worry it won't be vulnerable enough. I worry.
I think it needs to be vulnerable, but then I worry it won't be weird or whimsical, and people will pull away. But, I think if I do it "right," it will be engaging. That doing it "right" is the trick.
Hence, the worry.
Yesterday, the downy woodpecker was feeding his little one and a robin was waiting patiently for him to finish. The baby flew off for some reason, leaving the dad holding a mouthful, so he gave it to the grown-ass robin.
Very wholesome.
I am reading The Romanovs by Montefiore, and the amount of queer relationships is both startling and infuriating. How anyone can deny love is love when it's always been true and human is beyond me. Do they think us fools?

I also finished Shady Hollow by Black and can't recommend that one, alas. Woodland creatures murder mystery sounded excellent, but I found the execution dull and saccharine more than cozy.

Built the resort!
Realized the game I was playing wasn't energizing me. Switched to a new game, and within a few hours I went to my desk and started creating.
Grumpy, now.
Dug out my Switch because I saw a game I wanted. Had to charge it, had to update it, had to battle through agonizingly slow loading...so I thought, wait! what if it's also on Steam? While I waited, I looked and yes!
Then I saw the price. Well, that's not happening. I'll wishlist it...nope, Steam says I'm signed in but not fully? so it won't let me wishlist anything.
Tried to play a game I already own on the Switch and immediately encountered Joy-con drift. 😣 I'm done.
Went all day without the back brace. Still doing very little and mostly in bed, but it's progress!

I'm the only person on the outside who writes to Fernie. He's in prison, and a letter or postcard from you would make him happier than you can imagine. Getting mail is a way to feel valid and to know someone cares.

Last night, I finally got the fast travel tower for Ginger Island. Yay!!
I only need one more for the full set.
Then I guess I'll work on finding everything on the Island. I sold my cow and goat, but kept the pig for now. I hope that wasn't a mistake, but they added too much time to chore pass.

Finally got back to the pool today. The water felt luxurious. I swam some, but floated a lot. I needed the sensory hug.
Then, I visited the eldest. We spent two hours in unmasked, intense political discussion. He's a communist, and I'm more anarchist. It was good.
