@db I work in tech... Only smart-home things I own are the three radiator thermostats... Those are almost 12 years old and not capable to connect to the internet... And still I have trust issues... :floofWhat:

*looks back at 17 years of depression*
*looks at multiple once-in-a-lifetime-catastrophes in the past two decades*
*looks at the crumpling social system, politics that only serve the old and the rich*
Sorry for not trying hard enough...
@volpeon@icy.wyvern.rip
"Waaaahhhh... Irgendwelche Hacker haben mein Discord gehackt!!!"
"... du hast wieder irgendwas API-Vollzugriff gegeben?"
"Ja, Discord hat mich da irgendwas wegen API gefragt. Hab ich dann bestätigt... Wieso? "
@link Have you tried running a Linux VM from Windows that is running dockerized Windows, running WSL running Edge? :neocat_thonk:
Considering both WSL2 and dockerized Windows use virtualization, that's three layers of virtualization... Just run Windows 3.0/3.11 from archive.org to add two additional VMs (JavaScript + DosBOX)
@anthropy@mastodon.derg.nz From experience: There is no fixing that... It will just fall off easier each time as the plastic gets fucked up more and more by that axle.
Luckily those wheels are replaceable.
Also: I don't a thing I'm ignoring and feeling bad about...
... I have a whole stack of them...
@sodiboo@lynnesbian
*mentally prepares a rant about gender shouldn't be an enum or asked at all in general*
*opens link*
*reads "IS_FEMALE" and "IS_MOSTLY_FEMALE"*
Well... at least it's not the usual tri-state of "male", "female" and "unknown"... There's at least a spectrum... What are all the other values? :neocat_thonk:
*reads "PORTUGAL", "SPAIN", "USA"* ...
...
Yeah, I figured out it should be called "NameClassification" or something like that and not "Gender".
@felisrandomis *looks at the mess in his flat*
Damn... I've already done my taxes...
And I forgot what I was procrastinating on while doing the taxes...
@saphire@dragon.style I've abandoned my "cart" during onlineshopping check-out for way less shitty things in the past. :floofWhat:
Too bad the majority will still happily comply with this shit.
@a_watch Die schafft es echt, dass man sich jeden Tag über was neues aufregen kann.
Lobbyisten sind ja so schon nicht unproblematisch, aber sie gehören nicht auch noch als Politiker in die Regierung... :floofAngry:
@yura@udongein.xyz Aren't they enabled by default? :afloofLoad:
I remember explicitly disable them, because the fucking nvidia driver was always considered as a security upgrade, bricking our software (or more specifically: docker)
Anyways: Open the settings in the update-manager and you can set it there. You probably also have to set "Automatically check for updates" to daily.
For a server w/o graphics a good start is probably this: https://ubuntu.com/server/docs/how-to/software/automatic-updates/
@rangaku@tech.lgbt That's what I try to do, but I still end up with a book most of the times... Maybe I'm bad at just keep it at the important stuff...
@0xabad1dea Me a year ago: How do you even manage to get that wrong in this way?
Me after having to review lots and lots of shitty code from one of our newer hires: *sigh* not again one of his "optimizations"...
@hannah@posts.rat.pictures Saw this picture first in my timeline and this confused my so hard what the hell is going on there...
After seeing the rest it made more sense.
@puppygirlhornypost2@transfem.social idk... normal people usually don't listen to me for more than ~20 seconds before walking of, changing subject or start talking over me...
@pierogiburo I'm thinking about starting to bike to work... *points at fuel prices*
I'm just afraid my bike breaks down due to my weight... also it's 20 km and two hills one way...
