@kauer @timrichards Also, if we want people to value democracy, parliament should be a mirror of the population as a whole. Not an assembly of grandparents.

@timrichards I"d like to see a law that you can't stand for election or be appointed into Senate vacancies if you are over 60. I'm older than that and have not observed the so called wisdom that comes with age. The median age of parliament should be the same as of the population generally, about 38 I think. #auspol

@sister_ratched @timrichards continually over reacting to everything. Many allergies, t2d, kidney disease, skin allergies, arthritis. I had covid in March 2020. It didn't cause these things but now they are all much worse. Not a gamble I want to take.

@book you could use it to pry toast out of the toaster. Or scrape stuff out of the bottom of jars or bowls.

@kaye@cathode.church this happens to me as well. I studied French in high school, that's 60 years ago. As an adult I studied Chinese and French came out. Recently I have begun re-learning that Chinese to better enjoy #cdrama, and French is still in the way. Amazing how the brain processes language.

@danielgibert@mastodon.online wonderful, and not just for kids. That would cheer me up in any medical setting. One hospital I was in had flat fluorescent lights in the roof but instead of white they looked like backlit sky and trees, very restful.

@TheGreatLlama seems to be a universal thing now. I want to give them money for actual goods but before I am allowed to do that I have to log in, go through two layers of 2fa, turn on my location, disable my ad blocker, then give them my email again so I can receive their newsletter. Then I have to nominate my local store and confirm my account id. After that they might let me see the products.
