Nothing is more emblematically QLD, than gifting a property to the person in the world who can most afford to pay for it, and then industrialise it in the middle of a world heritage area to launch rockets.
This has always worked out well in the past.

@trib@aus.social ABC star Charlie Pickering, host of The Weekly, told political YouTuber Avi Yemini he thought the move was "problematic".
Why are you talking to Avi?

@jadedtech @adavid it's not even a hard decision. 80% public support, massive majority in parliament, support from the cross benches.
It's a no-brainer.
What is the point of Albanese?

But who has certified rope lying around?
Rated tie downs seem to be the only real option to secure the load. I guess you can use regular rope to attach a tarp or other cover.

@mavetju@aus.social we have just had an edict from WA branch. No software is to be used unless specifically sanctioned. No OSM, no other club manager, etc. probably not even google sheets.
We are now stuck with ScoutMap, and Terrain.
I don't want to go back to paper logs, but maybe it will be the easiest.

@mavetju@aus.social I don't know why they keep choosing to reinvent the wheel. There are plenty of off the shelf, and even scout specific packages available which leaders and parents are happy with.
But who are we.

@MaxG@theblower.au I think if you are going to use "the lucky country" you should publish the whole quote.
It says as much about the situation as the other commentary.
"Australia is a lucky country run mainly by second rate people who share its luck. It lives on other people's ideas, and, although its ordinary people are adaptable, most of its leaders (in all fields) so lack curiosity about the events that surround them that they are often taken by surprise" Donald Horne (1964)
