Iconic Rush drummer Neil Peart celebrated in new documentary coming to CBC | CBC The Passionate Eye

Neil Peart, the drummer from Rush, was famous for blurring the lines between progressive rock, jazz, pop and heavy metal. For fans, he was the ultimate live performer and a drummer’s drummer.

After listening to the studio version of and seeing the Rio performance of #rush doing #yyz, I am more convinced than ever that the band had no deadwood or less talented players. Alex, Geddy, and Neil (RIP) were an amazing 3-piece band with exceptional talent that did amazing things. I've not heard the lineup with the new drummer, but I wish them the absolute best and hope they eventually consider putting out studio work.

YES I have been watching all of the video from the #Rush tour with Anika Nilles on drums and YES I just bought a ticket for one of the Charlotte shows. Last time I saw Rush in Charlotte was probably . . . 1984?

@WiteWulf@cyberplace.social @sharongascoigne@mastodonapp.uk#FilHenley just put me onto these. They're a bunch of high school children from #SanAnselmo, #California. Not my instruments nor style of music. But the claim is that they are very good technically. Fil was waxing lyrical about there being not a scintilla of AutoTune and the skills of the drummer and guitarists. And YouTube commenters have said the same. So I thought that I'd ask two people that I see regularly talking about such things. (Other people are welcome to chime in too.) Are they as good as I have read? https://youtube.com/v/3fFGdl3_k0Q There are a few other videos on the channel. #FATBetty #Rush #WingsOfPegasus #AuthenticVocal
