Fred Johansen
A SF reader and programmer writing his first novel, a literary fantasy about the magic of storytelling.
Two friends grappling with grief transform a role-playing game into the oldest game of all: telling stories.
I'm in the process of gathering feedback on the third draft of the novel on critiquecircle.com, starting June 2026.

#writing: I think I'm actually finished with the third #draft of my #fantasy #novel. That was a long journey, and a difficult project because the book has two levels (a story within a story). But finally all the jigsaw pieces fit together to form the ending that it deserved from the start.
Now the process of getting feedback starts anew🙂 👀
Charging Is the Future

A parade of dirigibles? No, it''s A Parade of Horribles!
I read mostly old books, so it's weird for me to be excited about an upcoming release... but I am 😃
Coming May 12th, the eighth book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series:
A Parade of Horribles by Matt Dinniman.
The smartphone. such an invention.
a slavedriver in your pocket.
The Consumer Council of Norway comes out swinging on enshittification.
A Day in the Life of an Ensh*ttificator
I'll be trying out #Critique Circle to give and receive #feedback on #writing. We'll see how it goes.
I might hold off on submitting my #novel for now. After all, it's 37 "chapters" if I include the prologue and epilogue (though both are pretty short), and I need to familiarize myself with the site first.
Fingers crossed. 🙂
A no-nonsense #recommendation for Lee Child's Jack #Reacher:
As if #Hemingway inserted a gruff disposition into his #literary voice and started churning out one #thriller after another.
